Vermiculite, why can vermiculite be used to grow flowers?
Vermiculite is used in flower planting because it also has the following characteristics:
Vermiculite can be used as soil improver. Because of its good cation exchange and adsorption, it can improve soil structure, store water and conserve moisture, increase soil permeability and water content, and turn acidic soil into neutral soil.
Vermiculite can play a buffering role, hinder the rapid change of PH value, make fertilizer slowly released in crop growth medium, allow a little excessive use of fertilizer, and do no harm to plants.
Vermiculite can provide crops with potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron and trace elements such as manganese, copper and zinc.
The experiment shows that adding 0.5- 1% expanded vermiculite to compound fertilizer can increase crop yield by 15-20%.
