Brief introduction of Rongchang Lukong ancient town

Laixi River on land and air originated in Dazu and was called Laipo River in Tang and Song Dynasties. It is the main traffic passage from Dazu to Rongchang and Rongchang to Luzhou in ancient times, which flows to Baiyinshitan in Lukong Town. Shipping is blocked and goods must be transshipped before they can continue sailing. During the Song and Ming Dynasties, some shops were naturally built here for Hong merchants to rest, stay and pile up goods, which were called water docks. In the fifth year of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty (1800), local gentlemen and villagers expanded Rong Da Village on the basis of the water pier at that time in order to resist the war of An Baili Uprising in East Sichuan. More than 200 years have passed, and the old appearance of Darong Village has taken on a new look. However, the banyan trees of hundreds of years are still flourishing, and the scarred walls and several remaining painted patterns add desolation and ancient meaning. On the basis of the water pier in the Ming Dynasty, a quaint ancient street in the Ming and Qing Dynasties was formed. The ancient street is built on the mountain, and the shops with wooden structure are closely connected. Qingshi Road twists and turns, simple and elegant.

There are also seven ancient stone bridges with their own characteristics in Lukong Town. These ancient bridges were generally built in Qianlong and Jiaqing years, and some were even built in the Ming Dynasty. By the Qing Dynasty, they had been built for many years and were very old. Especially on the steep stone walls on both sides of Laixi reach, there are forty or fifty tombs of the Eastern Han Dynasty, some of which have formed rock tombs. Gu Zhuo's quaint ancestral temples, quaint and elegant ancient temples and bridges, ancient trees intertwined among rocks, ancient roads and deep stone steps formed after stepping on horses ... rich cultural heritage, long-standing folk customs and simple folk customs all show the past glory and rich cultural heritage of the ancient town. Lukong, which originated from a beautiful legend, was named after Zhen Xuan, a Taoist priest looking for a treasure trove of geomantic omen. Zhen Aoyun traveled around the world and arrived at Laixi River (called Laipo River in ancient times). He found beautiful scenery, dense forests and deep grass here, and decided not to travel around, so he planned to build a temple in another place. One day, I walked dozens of miles to land and air areas. It was noon, and when I was sleepy, I sat on the floor with my eyes closed. In the dim light, I saw a white-haired mother-in-law walking towards him with a cane and a tiger, saying "Link the road and the hole". Zhen Xuan suddenly realized that he was superior, so he thanked the hole and stone and continued to look for it.

Suddenly he heard a gurgling sound ahead, so he pulled out the grass tree and saw that it was a cave. I don't know how deep it is, but I hear the sound of water waves hitting. Later, five more such culverts were discovered. A flash of inspiration: six holes and road holes. It must be the fairy mother-in-law who speaks dialect. Siam may mean that these six caves are connected, and there is water in them, which may be connected with a stream. In order to explore whether these six holes are really connected, Zhen 'ao found some chaff shells and scattered them into the six holes respectively. Soon, chaff shells really emerged from the river.

I really wanted the fairy to show me this place, so I opened my eyes and looked. Sure enough, the water in Zhong Ling Mountain is beautiful and the aura is lingering. There are elk holding flowers by the water, hundreds of birds in the forest, and shallow wrasse swimming in the water in Qingxi, which is a peaceful atmosphere. It's a treasure trove. So Zhen 'ao decided to build a temple here, which is the Wanling Temple on the Laixi River today, and the place name of land and air was also spread because of the dialect of Xianpo.
