A tourist's trip to Stone Village in Shi Jia

Yu Jia Village, known as Stone Village, lives up to its reputation. This is the world of stones, and stones are brought into full play. Walking on the stone road, living in a stone house, sitting on a stone bench, pushing a stone mill. In this basin surrounded by mountains and with excellent geomantic omen, the descendants of Yu Qian, a politician and national hero in the Ming Dynasty, created this legendary place for us.

There are more than 4,000 stone houses, more than 3,700 meters of stone streets, 1000 stone pits, more than 2,000 acres of stone terraces, more than 2,000 stone tools and more than 200 stone tablets (there are still dozens). This is a veritable stone village.

More than 95% of the villagers in Yujia Village are surnamed Yu, descendants of Yu Qian, a politician and national hero in Ming Dynasty. When the ancestors moved to this place in Youdao (for Yu Qian's eldest grandson), it was still a wild place in the mountains, with a history of more than 500 years. 5% people are surnamed Kang, and a few people are close friends of Yu.

The guide took us to the Stone Museum, a stone quadrangle that used to be a primary school in the village. Now there are a large number of exhibits of ancient stone tools and natural stones from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, as well as many ancient agricultural tools and appliances.

Yujiacun consists of six streets, seven lanes and eighteen hutongs. Stone alley is very quiet, so it is difficult to meet people. There was no noise, and occasionally a few birds flew over the slate lane. The stone on the stone roadway has been polished by people coming and going for a long time.

After visiting a few alleys, I came to Guanyin Pavilion. To climb Guanyin Pavilion, you need to climb nine high steps. The villagers said that the interior furnishings were rebuilt according to the memories of the 70-year-old and 80-year-old people in the village in previous years. There are three shrines in the temple, including Guanyin, Manjusri and Bodhisattva. Like many temples, there is an ancient stage opposite Guanyin Pavilion. I think the villagers are afraid of the loneliness of these ancestors. This used to be the center of villagers' holiday gatherings. The villagers enthusiastically told us that the pavilion went all the way to the east. Liang Qing Pavilion is a landmark building in Yu Jia Village. Built in 158 1 year, with three floors and simple and rude style. Climbing up the stairs, a pair of couplets with white characters on a black background are hung on both sides of the gate: "Guests come from afar and live in Qiongge." The pavilion can be called "strange, special and changeable".

"Strange", usually a tall building, must have a foundation, but the pavilion rises from the ground and is built on the terrain. It has stood tall in the mountains for more than 440 years, which is really amazing and incredible.

"Te", with its unique architectural style, is somewhat overbearing and majestic. The pavilion is said to be like the front door of Beijing, but it is only somewhat similar. Most of the ancient buildings in China are well-defined, symmetrical and orderly, with rules to follow. The gazebo, on the other hand, takes a different approach and stands out. It has a great personality, let's say the gate of the pavilion. Unlike the gate of a general building, it is in the middle, but it is casually opened on one side. Its architecture is very similar to the freehand brushwork in Chinese painting, and it is bold and unrestrained. The building of Qingliangge seems to be more integrated with the surrounding undulating mountains, stone houses and stone alleys in style, which has unique aesthetic value.

"More" means more temples. The Jade Emperor Temple on the top floor of the pavilion is dedicated to the Jade Emperor. On the second floor, there are four parts. Huang San Temple is in the east for Yao, Shun and Yu. Sanyitang in the south is Liu, Guan and Zhang; The underworld in northern Yan Luowang; Kannonji in the west is for Guanyin, Niangniang and Niangniang.

After visiting the pavilion, the tour guide took us to the ancestral temple in Shi Yu, which was rebuilt by the original village committee. Shi Yu Ancestral Temple is a well-preserved stone quadrangle, covering an area of 300 square meters, with 15 rooms, among which the ancestors and their descendants who had the Tao died first.

This small village in the depths of Taihang Mountain is carefully planned from site selection to village architecture. The village is located in a small basin with closed mountains, low in the south and high in the north, and tilted from east to west, less than one square kilometer. It is slender in shape, like a fish swimming in the west. This village is full of stones and culture.

It takes 2 hours to visit the whole Stone Village.
