**Floods have occurred in Xi'an's history**. According to records, there have been 165 floods in the history of Shaanxi, and a considerable number of them occurred in Xi'an and its surrounding areas. In the pre-Qin period, the only record of floods in Xi'an was the "Three Days of Redness on the Weishui River" in the third year of King Wu of Qin (308 BC). This was most likely caused by continuous heavy rains.
