Savannah’s Climate

Savannah has a humid subtropical climate in the south. The notable climate feature is that it has long hot and humid summers and only 24 days of freezing temperatures in winter (snowfall is rare). Due to its proximity to the Atlantic coast, Savannah rarely experiences the extreme weather found in interior Georgia.

Savannah is humid and thundery in the summer. It has a monsoon climate, with almost half of the rainfall occurring from June to September every year. Dew point temperature is in the range of 20-22 degrees. Due to its location south of the snow line, it rarely snows in Savannah.
