Self-driving DAY 7: Batang-Mangkang-Zuogong, passing through the worst section of the 318 Sichuan-Tibet line.
We drove back to Litang from Shangri-La Town, and it was after 6 pm when we arrived at Litang. In order to catch up, we didn't rest in Litang, but chose to burn the midnight oil and go directly to Batang. It began to rain after coming out of Litang, and it never stopped all the way. This section of the road is well built, but there are many mountain roads and bends, and the view is not good because of the rain. Luckily, just after we left Litang County, we met an old driver with Guangdong B license plate leading the way. We can say that we followed the old driver's ass all the way.
At first, the driver was steady, but in the second half, he felt a little anxious and drove a little sideways. As long as someone overtakes him, he will stop and not let the other side overtake. For a while, when he was parting from another car, there happened to be a big car coming across. Fortunately, the other car quickly slowed down and returned to its driveway. After that, we didn't follow so closely. It will be easier to follow the car, but you must pay attention to keeping the distance between cars and reserve time for yourself to react in an emergency. Thank you, though. Without this old driver, we probably wouldn't have reached Batang. -
Although we arrived safely in the end, there were some small thrills on the road. It is not safe to advise people to burn the midnight oil when there are many big cars on the unfamiliar road and the weather is not good.
on September 9th, shortly after starting from Batang, we arrived at the Jinsha River, which is the border river between Sichuan and Tibet. The Jinsha River Bridge is across the river, and two road signs "Sichuan Boundary" and "Tibet Boundary" are respectively erected on the bridge. Many self-driving friends who ride by donkey friends will stop here to take pictures as a souvenir.
I'm so excited to finally be in Tibet. But then began the worst section of the 318 Sichuan-Tibet section, the Haitonggou section of the 318 National Road in Mangkang County. Due to various reasons such as rainfall, landslides, falling rocks and landslides, the road surface was damaged and the foundation collapsed very seriously. Along the way, there are staff wearing helmets repairing roads, and many times they are released unilaterally. This section of the road is more than 4 kilometers long, and it takes a lot of time to move. And because the road is muddy, Dabai turned into rhubarb after walking over, and all four wheels were put on thick mud coats =. = Dabai's car has never been so dirty. . .
although this section of the road is difficult to walk, ordinary vehicles should be able to pass. However, because a rhubarb puddle will pop up on the road from time to time, the chassis is estimated to bump into it.
bad roads lead to perfect scenery, and the ancients said that if you climb high and look far, you will not deceive me.
then we arrive at our destination, Zuogong, where we can have a pleasant rest. O(∩_∩)O~
One more thing to say, because we come from low altitude, in high altitude areas, we buy mineral water for drinking and use mineral water for boiling water. As we all know, the boiling point of water in the plateau will become lower, and it will boil at around 9 degrees if it doesn't reach 1 degrees. The higher the altitude, the lower the boiling point. In order to prevent acclimatization and worry that the boiling point is not enough to kill bacteria and parasites in tap water, we drink our own mineral water. It is suggested that people who are not native to the plateau should drink mineral water when they travel to the plateau, and feel at ease ~
