An ancient village hidden in the mountains of Loudi, with 200 Ming and Qing folk houses, the scenery is more beautiful than Fenghuang Ancient Town
Loudi City is the geometric center of Hunan and an emerging city with not very rich tourism resources. However, Xinhua County in Loudi City is an exception. Xinhua County not only has a long history, but also has the most tourist attractions and resources in Loudi City, such as Purple Que Terraces, Meishan Dragon Palace, etc. In fact, there is a large ancient village hidden deep in the mountains of Xinhua, which is Zhenglong Village in Xinhua County.
Zhenglong Village is located in the west of Shuiche Town, Xinhua County, in a mountain depression 800 meters above sea level in the core scenic spot of Ziquejie. It can be said that it is also located in a scenic area. It has beautiful mountains and clear waters and a pleasant climate. Even in the summer of 37 or 8 degrees, it is still very cool. It still retains its traditions and simple folk customs.
In Zhenglong Village, traditional buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties are preserved. Today, more than 200 wooden houses with wooden railings are well preserved. This may be one of the few original villages in my country where ancient buildings are well preserved. Some of the houses here are more than 200 years old. The ancient architectural art and quality are worthy of careful consideration by today's real estate developers.
More than 200 residential houses are concentrated under the terraces. They are well-proportioned and layered, with a sense of hierarchy. There are fruits, vegetables, landscape trees, etc. planted around the houses. The houses are connected by stone paths. Leading to every corner of the village, the buildings are not as majestic as the Forbidden City, but they are exquisite and elegant. They are not as tall as the stilted buildings in Fenghuang Ancient City, but they have a different feeling of Xiaojiabiyu.
The orientation of each building in Zhenglong Village is different. It is based on the mountain, simple and elegant, and coincides with the mystery. It is said that because Zhenglong Village believes deeply in Feng Shui, each house will be laid out according to Feng Shui. Each building unit is basically a wooden building built along the hillside, usually with two floors, with wooden exterior walls and blank gray bamboo woven top walls. Some houses are decorated with carved dragons and phoenixes, which are antique and have plain walls and green tiles, giving them a unique charm.
Zhenglong Village was rated as one of the most beautiful villages in Loudi in 2011, a characteristic residential village in 2014, and a "traditional Chinese village" in 2015. It can be said that these honors are all for Recognition from Zhenglong Village.
It was not until the Purple Que Terraces was developed into a scenic spot that Zhenglong Village began to enter the hearts of the world, and the mystery that was once hidden in the mountains was officially unveiled. Now it has been integrated with the Zishan Terraces and has become a scenic spot. If you go there, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of this ancient village. Have you ever been there?
