Xijiang Miao Village Four-Day Tour Route Karst Wonderland Carved by Wujiang River
The Wujiang Karst National Geopark Stone Forest Scenic Area is located in Changba Township, Sinan County, 70 kilometers away from the county seat.
It is the core scenic spot of the Shilin Sinan Wujiang Karst National Geopark and the most representative geological landscape, with an exposed area of 4.92 square kilometers. It has rich and unique geological landforms, colorful folk customs, myths and legends. Like a fairyland. We might as well walk into this paradise where nature and man are one, and explore the shadows in the depths of the stone forest.
According to research by geologists, the Sinan Stone Forest is a typical karst slope stone forest with a history of 400 million years. It is the contiguous karst stone forest with the most complete types of development, the most complete preservation and the largest exposed area on the earth at the same latitude. There are many types of landscapes in Sinan Stone Forest. These Permian limestones slowly dissolved along the joint fissures and evolved to this day. They are not only needle-shaped, sword-shaped, tower-shaped, column-shaped, but also castle-shaped, including various geological forms of stone forests from small to large, showing 400 million The Wujiang River Basin has undergone tremendous changes in recent years.
It not only has high aesthetic value, but also has high scientific investigation value. Guizhou experts said that the discovery of Sinan Stone Forest has filled the gaps and regrets in karst research in Guizhou Province for more than 50 years. Domestic first-class geological scientists believe that Sinan Stone Forest is a karst geological and ecological museum and a beautiful natural garden with complete types and different shapes.
When you walk into the stone forest, you will see scenery everywhere. The five standing lotus terraces are unique. They are not towers or columns, but hollow, like five giant lotuses in full bloom standing side by side. The largest lotus can accommodate several people to rest.
Legend has it that someone once saw auspicious clouds surrounding Avalokitesvara sitting on a lotus platform. Of course, the scientific explanation may be closer to the truth. It is due to the erosion of rain, snow and running water that the peculiar scene of weathered depressions is formed, which is very rare. The Great Vajra consists of four stone towers, with the Vajra standing upright. The three immortals welcome guests just as the three immortals are eager to welcome guests. They don't know where they come from and how many years they have been waiting. Sixty years ago, a local Feng Shui master predicted that in 60 years, the real dragon would return to its hometown and this place would be quite lively. Today, Jiazi has gone around in a circle, and the number of tourists in the stone forest is getting thicker and thicker. Is a prophecy coming true or a joke coming true? Perhaps in people's minds, the Stone Forest is full of rocks and barren of grass, while the Changba Stone Forest is a vibrant ecological stone forest. Here, the eroded wilderness merges with depressions, forests, fields, and houses. Live in harmony with forests and hoodoos. There are rocks in the forest, and there are forests among the rocks.
The mountains are full of pines and cypresses. In spring, the mountains are green and the scenery is beautiful; in autumn, the maple trees are dyed like colorful clouds. Shrubs and vines are densely covered with fragrant wildflowers and fruits such as honeysuckle and August melon. So the birds build their nests, and the bees build their villages, and they chirp. It's a joy.
On the ridges and fields, dozens of houses are dotted with bamboo fences and wooden houses, with crowing chickens and dogs. The emotion is poetic and the scene is picturesque; it is natural and the shades are appropriate. Live in harmony with living creatures, birds, animals, forest vegetation, etc. In the stone forest. In the hearts of Stone Forest people, Stone Forest is not an ordinary thing, but a magical spiritual place. All the stories and legends have a strong mythological flavor, so they are regarded as gods, which makes the stone forest well preserved to this day. Therefore, the Stone Forest is not an isolated stone world, but filled with human fireworks and the shadow of the Wizard of Oz.
There is only a stone cave left at the base of the wall of Ran's house in Shilin. It is said that in ancient times, there was a family named Ran who was very poor and lived in a cave. But since then, miracles have happened. Countless wild bees descended from the sky and set up camp in the stone forest surrounding his home. From then on, there was a steady flow of honey. He made a living from bees and became a well-off family within a few years.
The legendary Liangfeng Cave in the Stone Forest can predict the weather. In May 1958, Liangfeng Cave roared day and night for several days. Finally the smoke billows, then the sky changes color and hail rains down. This is the severe hailstorm that has not been seen in the area in decades. There is also a legend about the origin of Liangfeng Cave. It is said that a long time ago, you could borrow food from Liangfeng Cave. When people are short of food, as long as they go to Liangfeng Cave to talk to the gods, they will never be disappointed. As the saying goes, it’s not difficult to borrow again. But later, in a drought year, many local villagers borrowed grain from Liangfeng Cave. The next year, some people secretly filled the numbers with rice husks and rice bran. From then on, people around the stone forest could no longer lend food. This is a legend about honesty, more like a profound fable. Integrity is also a kind of savings, and what saves is integrity. If everyone writes a bad check, the consequences are not difficult to imagine.
The legend of the Stone Bodhisattva should probably be classified as a myth.
According to common people's legends about the Stone Forest, there was no Stone Forest here a long time ago. Demons are everywhere and people are miserable. One day, people here found a baby girl lying on the edge of the hillside, crying, obviously abandoned and pitiful. The people here are very kind. An old man took her home and cooked millet into rice milk to feed her. Although she knew that it would be more uncomfortable for her family to have too much food if she didn't finish her last meal, she would never let the little girl starve to death. When the surrounding villagers heard about this, they all came to visit with food and clothes for the baby. That night, the baby actually said: I can't stay too long, I have to leave. You are so nice and I want to help you. If you have any difficulties in the future, let me know where you picked me up. The next day, people discovered that a huge boulder had miraculously grown where the girl was found. They knew it was a fairy and called her the Stone Bodhisattva. It is said that this stone bodhisattva appears repeatedly. If your child has some minor illness, you can come here to burn some incense and make a wish, or you can send your child to Stone Bodhisattva and ask him to be his godmother, and the problem will be cured. Therefore, in villages near and far, there are many godsons and goddaughters of Stone Bodhisattva, all of whom have a little bit of fairy dust and are somewhat of a fairy spirit.
The Stone Bodhisattva is worshiped for this reason. Every festival or long journey, Stone Forest people come here to burn incense and worship. The incense continues all year round, especially on the birthday of the Bodhisattva on the 19th day of the sixth lunar month every year. People from hundreds of miles around come here to worship. Stone Forest is crowded with people, so lively.
It is said that Stone Bodhisattva simply carried out his good deeds to the end and sent countless heavenly soldiers and generals to guard this land and maintain peace forever. These heavenly soldiers will turn into stone during the day and stay put. At night, they reveal their true colors and cruise around.
So Sinan Stone Forest is not only a large-scale bonsai and natural garden carved by the Wujiang River over the years, but also a paradise and a paradise on earth where humans and gods live together and heaven and humans are integrated. (An Yuankui)
