Who has the Zhao family tree in Raoyang, Hebei Province?
There are four origins of Zhào's surnames:
1. Self-winning surnames, with Zao Fu as the ancestor. According to legend, Zao Fu got eight swift horses in Huashan Mountain and presented them to King Mu. King Mu went hunting in these eight horse-drawn carts and went to Kunlun Mountain. The Queen Mother of the West hosted a banquet in Yaochi. At this time, Xu Yanwang in the southeast rebelled. Zao Fu drove thousands of miles every day, got back to the imperial city in time, and led troops to defeat Xu Yanwang. Because of Zao Fu's meritorious counter-insurgency, King Mu gave him Zhao Cheng (now the north of Hongtong County, Shanxi Province). From then on, Zao Fu and his descendants took the fief as their surname and became Zhao.
2. Take the country as the surname. Zao Fu's descendants elected their father to serve Zhou Xuanwang. My father gave birth to my uncle, and because Zhou Youwang had no way, he left the Zhou royal family to go to the State of Jin to serve as the royal family of Jinwen. In this way, Zhao entered the State of Jin and later became a doctor. When Zhou Weilie was king, he was listed as a vassal, and the founding monarch, Zhao Liehou, was a descendant of Zhao Shuai, a doctor of Jin Dynasty, and was one of the Seven Heroes in the Warring States Period. After being destroyed by the state of Qin, the Duke of Zhao was named after the original country and became Zhao.
3. It is a minority surname. In history, there were also ethnic minorities named Zhao, such as Zhao An Ji (Hun) in the Han Dynasty, Zhao Tufu ("Na Man") in the Tang Dynasty, and so on. Their descendants all follow the surname Zhao. In addition, the Mongolians want to change their surname to Zhao.
4. The Zhao and Song Dynasties gave their surnames. There have been historical figures with Li surname, Mu surname, Long surname and Yuwen compound surname, and they were given the surname Zhao.
ancestor of surname: Zao Fu. Shao Hao was a famous horse master in the Western Zhou Dynasty. Fortunately for Zhou Muwang, it is said that he once took eight good horses, presented them to the king, and went west to Kunlun, where he met the Queen Mother of the West and forgot to return. After hearing of Xu Yanwang's rebellion in Xuzhou, he personally rode in a royal chariot, carrying King Mu for thousands of miles a day, and returned at the right time, so that he could put down the chaos and was awarded to Zhao Cheng (now Zhaocheng Town, Hongtong County, Shanxi Province) for his work. When it was spread to Zhao Xiangzi, it was divided into three parts with Korea and Wei to establish Zhao, which was destroyed by Qin in 222 BC. Later generations took the country name as their surname, called Zhao, and respected Zao Fu as their ancestor.
II. Migration and distribution
The birthplace of Zhao is in Shanxi Province today. At the beginning of Qin Dynasty, the first emperor appointed Zhao Gongfu as the chief executive of Xirong area and lived in Tianshui. Their descendants settled in Tianshui, and soon they became a prominent local family. At the same time, Zhao Wang Zhao Qian was exiled to Fangxian County, Hubei Province, and his descendants were born in Hubei Province. After Zhao Tuo established the State of Nanyue, he pushed Zhao's surname to present-day Guangdong and Guangxi. Zhao's southward migration began in the Three Kingdoms, and the Northern Song Dynasty, founded by Zhao's Zhao Kuangyin in Zhuojun County, made Zhao's population develop unprecedentedly. The Southern Song Dynasty, which was founded by Zhao, made Zhao's family flourish in the south of the Yangtze River. At the same time, Zhao in the north was also moved in the three northeastern provinces. Since the Song Dynasty, the surname Zhao has spread all over the country.
