In ancient times, people called the section from Jiujiang to Jingkou (Zhenjiang) of the Yangtze River Zhongjiang, and Wuhu was in its place, hence the name Zhongjiang; He also said that there was Zhongjiang in ancient times, connecting Taihu Lake in the east and the Yangtze River in the west, and Wuhu ancient land was on the bank of Zhongjiang, so it was called Zhongjiang in Wuhu, hence the name of Zhongjiang Tower. As early as the Eastern Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties, the small tower there became a lighthouse for ships sailing in the Yangtze River and Qingyi River at night, and it was also a beacon for ships to enter Wuhu.
