Where is Zhuge Liang's thatched cottage?

Zhuge Liang Caotang is located in Longzhong Scenic Area of Xiangyang.

On the back slope of Sangutang on the side of Longzhong Mountain, it is hexagonal, with double cornices, green columns and red tiles. A large stone tablet in the pavilion is engraved with the word "grass reed", which is vigorous and dignified. It was built in the original site in the 19th year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty (1540) and rebuilt by Zhao in the early Qing Dynasty.

This was originally the reading room where Zhuge Liang lived in seclusion. Zhu Jianshu, the king of bamboo slips in the Ming Dynasty, is superstitious about geomantic omen and intends to use this monument as his tomb. After the Li Zicheng Uprising, the mausoleum buildings were destroyed, but the earth graves were still there. Later generations built this grass reed pavilion next to the tomb to express their admiration and nostalgia for the sage Kong Ming.

The story of three visits to Mao Lu has been passed down through the ages. Now Zhuge Liang's thatched cottage is not a thatched cottage, but a small wooden pavilion. According to the staff of the scenic spot, Zhuge Liang has always been highly respected, and Zhuge Liang Caotang has also received special care and maintenance.

The story of three visits to the thatched cottage

Xu Shu, Liu Bei's strategist, recommended Zhuge Liang to Liu Bei, so Liu Bei and his two brothers Guan Yu and Zhang Fei went to invite Zhuge Liang out of the mountain. The first time, the second time and the third time, they didn't see anyone.

After seeing Zhuge Liang, Liu Bei asked him about ways to bring peace and stability to the country. Zhuge Liang gave a strategy of "three points in the world", which was called "Longzhong Dui" in history. Later, Zhuge Liang followed Liu Bei out of the mountain and served as a strategist, which made Liu Bei Group gradually stronger.

Liu Bei's invitation to Zhuge Liang was first seen in Chen Shou's "The History of the Three Kingdoms". Later, in the Southern and Northern Dynasties, the truth of this story could not be verified. It was not until the Tang Dynasty unified China that the story of the Three Kingdoms spread. Many poets have written Zhuge Liang's poems, such as Du Fu's Book of Letters, "Look at the world diligently and offer sincerity to two generations". At this time, the story of caring for the thatched cottage has been deeply rooted in the hearts of the people in the Tang Dynasty.
