The urban planning of Suzhou High-tech Zone closely focuses on the goal of striving for a "first-class park", making every effort to create a "profitable new area", "vital new area" and "harmonious new area", and comprehensively enhance the construction of "five functional groups". The administrative area is 223.36 square kilometers. Suzhou High-tech Zone and Huqiu District are connected to the ancient city of Suzhou, a world-famous historical and cultural city, to the east, to the west of Taihu Lake with its 36,000 misty waves, and to the south of the lush green hills of Jiangnan that stretch for dozens of miles. It is surrounded by Shihu Scenic Area, Dongting Dongxi Mountain Scenic Area, Tianling Scenic Area, Fengqiao Hanshan Temple and Huqiu Scenic Area. The regional Wu culture has a long history and rich accumulation, including historical and cultural heritage such as Jiangfeng Ancient Rhythm and Hanshan Bell, as well as traditional crafts such as Jinshan Stonemasonry and Zhenhu Embroidery, as well as the Wanfo Stone Pagoda, the first batch of provincial cultural relics protection units built in the Southern Song Dynasty.
