Basic situation of Suzhou High-tech Development Zone

Relying on the location, resources and industrial advantages of the western region, in the next few years, western Suzhou will be built into a high-tech industry, tourism and leisure tourism, technology research and development centers, large-scale conference and exhibition centers and high-quality residences. Land layout and functional zoning: Suzhou High-tech Zone and Huqiu District are divided into three major functional areas and five major functional groups, namely Shishan Area (Central Group, Hengtang Group), Hutong Area (Hutong Area) Tongtong Group) and Hubin Area (Science and Technology City Group, Lakeside Group). The urban planning of Suzhou High-tech Zone closely focuses on the goal of striving for a "first-class park", making every effort to create a "profitable new area", "vital new area" and "harmonious new area", and comprehensively enhance the construction of "five functional groups". After the zoning adjustment, Suzhou High-tech Zone and Huqiu District are bounded by Shihu Lake and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal to the east, and Youxin Street in Canglang District. Sanyuan Street and Baiyangwan Street in Jinchan District are bounded by the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, and are bounded by the Jinchan District. Huqiu Subdistrict is adjacent to the five villages of Qingtai, Min'an, Dazhuang, Chenqi and Xiazhuang in Huangqiao Subdistrict of Xiangcheng District; and to the south is the four villages of Moshe, Zhangzhai, Wushan and Zhangqiao of Yuexi Subdistrict in Wuzhong District. It borders Jinshan and Tianping villages in Mudu Town, Wufeng, Tianchi, Huangcun, Guanqiao and other villages in Zangshu Town, Fengbang, Haodu and Anshan villages in Guangfu Town; it borders Taihu Lake in the west and northwest; and it borders Taihu Lake in the west and northwest; Changjing and Panyang villages in Huangdai Town, Xiangcheng District; Fangqiao, Nianqiao, Sangbang, Luogeng and Jiaogeng villages in Dongqiao Town; Yantou, Huayang, Juzhuang and Wu villages in Wangting Town Sijing, Menghe and other villages are adjacent to each other.

The administrative area is 223.36 square kilometers. At the end of 2010, the total regional population was 725,100, including 335,700 permanent residents, 381,600 temporary residents, and 7,800 foreign residents. It has jurisdiction over four subdistricts: Shishan, Fengqiao, Hengtang, and Zhenhu, and three towns: Xushuguan, Tong'an, and Dongzhu. It consists of Science and Technology City, Xushuguan Economic Development Zone, Western Suzhou Eco-City, and Suzhou High-tech Zone. Export processing zones and bonded logistics centers. The High-tech Zone Management Committee and the Huqiu District People's Government are located on Yunhe Road. The terrain of Suzhou High-tech Zone and Huqiu District is higher in the west and lower in the east. Wusong has an elevation of 4.88m-5.38m. The soil is sticky, has strong ground endurance, and is geologically stable. It has a subtropical monsoon oceanic climate, with short spring and autumn, long winter and summer, and four distinct seasons. The climate is mild and humid throughout the year, with an average annual temperature of 17.7°C.

Suzhou High-tech Zone and Huqiu District are connected to the ancient city of Suzhou, a world-famous historical and cultural city, to the east, to the west of Taihu Lake with its 36,000 misty waves, and to the south of the lush green hills of Jiangnan that stretch for dozens of miles. It is surrounded by Shihu Scenic Area, Dongting Dongxi Mountain Scenic Area, Tianling Scenic Area, Fengqiao Hanshan Temple and Huqiu Scenic Area. The regional Wu culture has a long history and rich accumulation, including historical and cultural heritage such as Jiangfeng Ancient Rhythm and Hanshan Bell, as well as traditional crafts such as Jinshan Stonemasonry and Zhenhu Embroidery, as well as the Wanfo Stone Pagoda, the first batch of provincial cultural relics protection units built in the Southern Song Dynasty. The Wenchang Pavilion Taoist Temple, a municipal cultural relic protection unit during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, and the Sanliting Pavilion, a municipal cultural relic protection unit built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, are a geomantic treasure land that combines the beauty of the Jiangnan landscape and the gentleness of Wuzhong culture.
