Select the type of map

The highlight of the map, the central image protrusion, is very connotative. This is my first attempt to make two branches, leaving enough room for breathing in the layout.

Map Explanation

? There are six blessings in the gourd series of mind maps, including the origin and origin of gourds, the introduction and cultivation of gourds, the value of gourd handicrafts, and the uses of gourds. It consists of six medicinal parts separated from the gourd. Three paintings were started at the end of 2017, and three were just completed. I knew very little about gourds before. In the process of mapping and searching for information, I learned that the infinite mysteries of gourds and the profound traditional culture related to gourds are worthy of tracing back to their origins and continuing to explore. The map presents This is just a summary of some relevant content, or a partial extraction of what I am personally interested in. It is shared here for everyone’s reference only!

? 1. Central picture

? Fuxi and Nuwa, the ancestors of mankind in ancient mythology, are both regarded as the incarnation of gourds. In ancient mythology, Pangu, the ancestor who "created the world", also came from gourd. "Mupa Mipa" said: The first generation of people, Zadi and Nadi, were conceived by the god Ersha with a gourd. The nine ethnic groups including Lahu, Wa, Hani, Yi and Dai were born from Zadi and Nadi. Nine pairs of children. I only know that Meng Jiangnu cried for the Great Wall, but I don’t know that she was also sawn out of a gourd, so the human being was conceived in the gourd, which is the central picture of the baby in the gourd.

2. The first branch

The origin of the gourd has been presented in all the more classic mentions from the earliest oracle bone inscriptions to the records in various classics to the final conclusion of the name.

3. The second branch

The legends, myths, festivals, and folk customs related to gourds. In short, the ancestor who created human beings and all things in the world was the transformation of gourds. "As for why the ancestor is called gourd The incarnation of "Melons" may be because melons have many children, which is the best symbol of the reproduction of offspring. "From creation and ancestors to the meaning of marriage and love between men and women, it is the gourd as a metaphorical image in the rise of "Poetry" and "Poetry". The true meaning of the image of "Yi".

The Calabash Festival is a traditional festival of the Lahu people. It is called "Apeng Alonni" in Lahu language. It is the most solemn festival of a relatively unique ethnic minority. It is celebrated every year on the 15th day of the 10th month of the lunar calendar. The ethnic people, dressed in brilliant national costumes, sang and danced, brought home-brewed wine and glutinous rice cakes, killed pigs and chickens, and gathered in the square of each village to start the annual celebration. The Lahu people use the gourd as a symbol, which symbolizes the Lahu people's spiritual pursuit of walking out of the gourd and running toward the sun and their good wishes for good fortune and happiness. The Gourd Festival in Liaocheng, a water city in the north of the Yangtze River, has also been successfully held for the 11th time. Dongchangfu District is the hometown of Chinese gourd carving culture and art, and Dongchang gourd carving and needle carving skills have been listed as a national intangible cultural heritage protection project. This is the first mind map about gourds I completed after visiting the 11th Liaocheng Gourd Festival on November 12, 2017.

The dazzling display of various types of Japanese gourds and handicrafts at the Gourd Festival completely subverts the previous understanding of gourds. The only type of gourd in the impression is Yayao. In fact, there are six major types of gourds. There are dozens of varieties in the series, with different shapes and colorful colors, so the central picture directly depicts the original appearance of the gourd. As the saying goes, "It is difficult to grow delicious cherries." Only after learning about it did I know that the cultivation of gourds is very particular. Let's just talk about "seed germination". From selection to germination, child-like care must be given to promote healthy gourds. Seedlings needed. For seed soaking and germination varieties, Japanese green gourds are used. Soak the seeds in warm water at 40°C for 12 to 24 hours. After taking them out, wrap them in gauze and dry them, and then crack open the soaked sweet gourd seeds. Use a wooden trough or an ordinary pot, put a layer of sterilized sawdust or sand, and then a layer of gauze. Place the soaked seeds evenly on the gauze, cover it with a new towel that has been wrung out, and cover it with a curtain. Cover with cotton quilt to induce germination, and use a new brush to brush the water twice a day. The germination temperature is generally between 25 and 28°C. It is required to pick out the sprouted seeds every day and place them in another pot in a cool place indoors to control the growth of the buds.

After watching this whole process, I instantly felt a sense of awe for life in my heart.

? The reason why gourd handicrafts are loved by people is because of their changeable shapes and exquisite craftsmanship. After processing, the surface of natural gourds can produce complex patterns, and a wonderful artistic beauty can be achieved by changing the shape of the gourds. Therefore, the central picture uses various gourd crafts to express the most direct and relevant theme! The production process of gourd handicrafts can be simple or complex, but without exception they give people an irreplaceable sense of beauty, and some even have extremely high collection value. The display and exchange of handicrafts at each Gourd Festival are the most important. The missing event highlight!

? This is my personal favorite. The center picture is the most common gourds and gourd silk we use, as well as the green herbs inside and the Sheng dance carved on the wooden board, because the earliest gourds It is used as a container, and the one we are most familiar with is the water ladle in our memory. The larger one is used to ladle water, and the smaller one is used as a noodle ladle. This should be the most profound childhood memory of people born in the 1970s. I remember it because I no longer need it anymore! The overall layout of the map is very well-proportioned. One of the highlights is that each main branch has been processed related to the content of the branch. For example, the musical instrument is directly a staff and echoes the Sheng dance in the center picture. The weapon is an ancient sword, and the food is a piece of music. The mouth and feng shui are even more feng shui, which makes it more vivid and vivid! The uses of gourds are so many and wide that it is impossible to list them in detail in each branch. We can only choose the most representative ones to list. Even so, there is still no space to display medicinal uses in the map, so we use the entire map below to sort out gourds. of medicinal value.

? The central picture is more fascinating. The character in it does not have a specific name. He is an old man who "hangs the pot to help the world." The entire map is completed with colored pencils. In order to be consistent with the style of the central picture, the five main trunks have been replaced. Five auspicious clouds and the overall color give people a fresh and elegant feeling.

? The whole body of the gourd is full of treasures. The whole plant can be used as medicine, and it is widely used and has remarkable medicinal effects. Many people may not understand why some traditional Chinese medicine stores hang a gourd in front of their doors. However, if you mention the saying "I don't know what kind of medicine is sold in the gourd", you will know that this gourd must be related to medicine.

? There are two sources for the word "Xuanhu": the first source is according to literature records, Xinglindian comes from the allusion of Dong Feng in "Taiping Guangji: Biography of Immortals" in the late Han Dynasty; the second source is "Book of the Later Han· The story of Fei Changfang in "The Biography of Fang Shu: Biography of Fei Changfang", although the recorded legend is somewhat mythical and legendary, the superb medical skills of the two of them are admirable. Because of the spread of this story, later generations will nickname the practice of medicine. For Xuan Hu, the congratulations from doctors or clinics are all without exception that Xuan Hu helps the world. The hanging gourd has become a symbol of traditional Chinese medicine.
