Miao Xun’s profile
Miao Xun: A native of Hezhong (now Yongji, Shanxi), a minister in the early Song Dynasty. He studied under Patriarch Chen Tuan and was good at astronomy and fortune-telling, and was good at strategy. He got to know Zhao Kuangyin in his early years and predicted Zhao Kuangyin's Chenqiao mutiny in the camp.
In market novels and operas, he is described as Zhao Kuangyin's military advisor, as famous as Zhuge Liang and Xu Maogong.
According to the records of Lu'an Prefecture and Lucheng County Chronicles, Miao Guangyi, named Xun, courtesy name Guangyi, was a native of Song Village, Lucheng. He was very ambitious when he was young, so he went west to Mount Huashan and became his disciple, Chen Tuan, a famous Taoist at that time. Because he was smart, studious, and talented, he was deeply loved by his mentor, who taught him with special devotion. After several years of hard work, Miao Guangyi has learned a lot about literature, Taoism and martial arts, and is full of knowledge. The ancestor Chen Tuan once said: "I have taught many disciples in my life, and the one who will become a great master in the future is Guangyi." After Miao Guangyi became a teacher, he traveled all over the world to find teachers and friends, and he humbly asked for advice, which made him more knowledgeable, broader-minded, and more discerning and unique in looking at problems. After witnessing the tragic scene of the country being divided, the people suffering from war, hunger and cold, and mourning everywhere, he was determined to make contributions to the country and benefit the people of Li. After he returned to his hometown, he built a simple shed on the Golden Bridge in Liuye Town (today's Huangnian Town), where he performed fortune-telling, fortune-telling, and medical consultations. Regardless of whether they are rich or poor, near or far, they are all treated equally. Qihuang helps the world, cures diseases with medicine, and predicts good and bad fortunes like gods. For a time, people were coming and going, and the shed door was like a market. Then a strange case happened, which made Miao Guangyi even more famous. At that time, there was a family named Guo in Liuye Town. Mr. Guo was just sixty years old. His son was doing business abroad all year round. His daughter-in-law, Ms. Zhang, took care of the housework at home. Mr. Guo worked hard to cultivate several acres of thin farmland at home. One morning in April of this year, her daughter-in-law Zhang came to the field to deliver food. She saw that her father-in-law was still hoeing the ground. Because she missed her family, she hung the rice can on the branch of an ancient tree, said hello and went back. The father-in-law was poisoned and died after eating. After a passerby discovered it, he reported it to the county and sent someone to investigate and find out the cause. As a result, Zhang was sentenced to death for poisoning his father-in-law and was sent to death row to be executed later in life. After the incident, a severe drought lasted for more than 70 days, with no rain falling, and people were extremely anxious. The county magistrate personally worshiped God and prayed for rain, but to no avail. He was helpless, so he was recommended to seek advice from Miao Guangyi. Guangyi calculated that this matter was related to the case of Zhang's poisonous man. Through open and secret investigations, it was known that Zhang was a virtuous and filial woman who behaved upright. The poisonous man's case was probably an unjust case, and there was something fishy about it. Guangyi went to the crime scene and observed carefully, and he knew better. He asked someone to cook the same meal and hang it on the branch of an ancient tree. He took it off and fed it to the dog after two hours. After the dog ate it, he died of bleeding from his mouth and nose. Guangyi immediately ordered everyone to light wormwood and rosin around the roots of the ancient tree, cut down the ancient tree, and saw a big snake crouching in a dry hole in the center of the tree. People killed it, and Zhang's injustice was redressed. On the same day, there was heavy rain in the area, and this incident caused a stir in the Shangdang area. One day, Zhao Kuangyin, who was wandering in the rivers and lakes, passed by Liuye Town and saw a crowd of people in front of the Gua Peng. He got off his horse, tied the horse to a willow tree next to the bridge, separated from the crowd and walked into the Gua Peng to investigate. When Miao saw Zhao Kuangyin, who had a plump face and a majestic appearance, and looked like an emperor, he hurriedly stood up to greet him. After talking to him, I felt that he had a broad mind and lofty ambitions. The conversation between the two was very congenial, and they met each other late. They both had great ambitions to overthrow the brutal rule, rebuild the great cause and save the people from the fire and water. So Miao Guangyi closed the stall, took Zhao back to the village, and held a banquet to entertain him. Miao analyzed the general trend of the world and told him: At present, the situation south of the Han River is relatively stable, but the war continues in the north. He should gather heroes from all over the world in the north to expand his power, assess the situation, and when the time is right, he can initiate an uprising, and told him Guo Wei, who is now the supreme military commander of the Later Han Dynasty in Yedu, Hebei Province, is a heroic figure. He can go to seek refuge and act according to the situation. After hearing this, Zhao Kuangyin raised his hands and thanked him, saying: "Mr. Miao has great foresight and foresight. He is a genius today. He is really the reincarnation of Zhuge Kongming. I am sincerely convinced." The two sides were reluctant to part when they were leaving. Miao saw that Kuangyin's clothes were shabby, so he gave him money for travel expenses. Kuangyin was so grateful that tears filled his eyes. He and Miao Guangyi agreed that when the time comes, they will work together with his husband to pursue a great career. In the first year of Guangshun (950), Zhao Kuangyin came to Hebei and took refuge with Guo Wei, the privy envoy of the Later Han Dynasty. The following year, Guo Wei launched a mutiny, destroyed the Later Han Dynasty, and established the Later Zhou Dynasty. Zhao Kuangyin was promoted to the leader of the Forbidden Army because of his bravery in combat, and thus made friends with Guo Wei's adopted son Chai Rong. Zhao Kuangyin never forgot the appointment between Jinqiao and Mr. Miao Guangyi, and sent his cronies to look for this strange man... In the fourth year of Guangshun (954), Zhou Taizu Guo Wei died of illness, Chai Rong ascended the throne and proclaimed himself emperor, Zhou Shizong, and Zhao Kuangyin was promoted to the palace. The former capital was Yuhou, and he became a senior general of the Forbidden Army in the later Zhou Dynasty. Miao Guangyi, who had already met Zhao Kuangyin at this time, successively recommended to him Zhao Pu, who was talented in literature, Zheng Ziming, who was unstoppable in military affairs, and others. Zhao was overjoyed and left Guangyi and others under the tent with important tasks.
In the battles against the Southern Tang Dynasty in the later Zhou Dynasty, Zhao Kuangyin led his troops to victory after victory. When attacking Shouzhou, he failed repeatedly due to misjudgment of the enemy's situation. He was defeated and surrounded by Hulu Valley, and his food and grass were cut off. When the situation was very critical, Miao Guangyi and the hero Wang Yansheng, the village leader who had been persuaded to join him, led their troops to attack from behind the Southern Tang soldiers and horses, and attacked Zhao from inside and outside, turning defeat into victory. In the battle to attack Chuzhou and Qingliu Pass, Zhao Kuangyin failed in the first battle due to the small number of troops and unfavorable terrain. Under Miao Guangyi's plan, Zhao Kuangyin led his troops along the path by surprise, penetrated Chuzhou City from behind Qingliu Pass, and captured Nan alive. Tang commanders Huangfu Hui and Yao Feng captured Chuzhou City in one fell swoop and defeated the Tang army. Therefore, Zhao Kuangyin was appointed by Zhou Shizong to inspect the capital in front of the palace and became the supreme commander of the imperial army in front of the palace. Miao Guangyi was also appointed as the commander of the capital in front of the palace. After Miao Guangyi's careful planning and careful operation, by the time Zhou Shizong died of illness, Zhao Kuangyin had formed a group composed of "literary Miao Guangyi, Zhao Pu, Chu Zhaofu, and military personnel Pan Mei, Gao Huaide, Shi Shouxin, Zheng Ziming, etc." On the first day of the first lunar month of the seventh year of Xiande (960), Zhao Kuangyin broke the news that the Liao and Northern Han troops invaded the Later Zhou Dynasty, forcing the seven-year-old emperor of the Later Zhou Dynasty to send troops to meet the enemy. On the afternoon of the second day of the first lunar month, the army arrived in Fengji. In Chenqiaoyi, which is ten miles away, Miao Guangyi, who was very famous among the surrounding sergeants, pointed to the sun and said to everyone: There are two suns in the sky. He also said seriously to Chu Zhaofu, a close aide of Zhao: One day will defeat the enemy. One day, a new emperor will be born. This is destiny. The two asked and answered questions and sang in harmony, which was both vivid and lifelike. The soldiers around him quickly spread the word "One day to conquer" throughout the barracks. The mysterious prophecy that "one day, there will be a new emperor" was exaggerated by Chu Zhaofu. Under the temptation of superstition, in the eyes of the majority of the sergeants, Zhao Kuangyin seemed to be a gift from God and a sign of his destiny. The next morning, a large number of people came to see Zhao Kuangyin. Instigated by the generals Miao Guangyi and Chu Zhaofu, Zhao Pu and Zhao Kuangyi rushed Zhao Kuangyin out of the dormitory. They shouted in unison that there was no master in the army, and they hoped that the Taiwei would be the emperor. They put a yellow jacket symbolizing the emperor on him. On his body, all the generals knelt down and shouted "Long live". Zhao Kuangyin accepted the support and returned to the capital. With the cooperation of Shi Shouxin and others in the capital, he quickly controlled the situation and captured the world of Hou Zhou without any blood. This is the famous " "Chenqiao Mutiny". Zhao Kuangyin announced the country's name as "Song" and changed the name of the country to "Jianlong". He became the first emperor of the Song Dynasty and named Miao Guangyi the national military advisor and Tiantai Zheng. Like all emperors, Zhao Kuangyin Miao Guangyi was worried about his old ministers and generals, so he staged a good show of "releasing military power over a glass of wine". A large number of meritorious generals dismounted and returned to their fields. Miao Guangyi thought of overthrowing the Later Tang Dynasty and unifying the world. This goal had been achieved, and he would continue to accompany him in the court. The emperor was in trouble, and he was determined to follow the example of Fan Li and Zhang Liang and retire, so he made many memorials and returned to his hometown on the grounds of being ill. Zhao Kuangyin saw that he could not be persuaded to stay, so he agreed to return home to recuperate. In addition to a sum of money, Miao Guangyi's hometown, Miaojiazhuang, was given the name of Song Dynasty, which is still in use today. After returning to his hometown, Miao Guangyi saw that most of the people in his hometown were still poor and hungry, and those who were illiterate were often bullied. Seeing this situation, he decided to set up a voluntary school and do good deeds for his father and fellow villagers. He took out the silver donated by the court, bought and built a house as a school building, invited private schools, set up an uprising school, and recruited students in Songcun and nearby villages, free of charge, especially Those in need were provided with school supplies. The establishment of the volunteer school played a positive role in popularizing local folk education, cultivating talents, and promoting social progress. At the same time, Miao Guangyi built bridges and paved roads in the local area, solved problems for the villagers, and provided relief to the poor. The good deeds of the villagers in resolving their problems were highly praised by the people. In his later years, Miao Guangyi arranged his own grave in Xiling, Song Village, Lucheng. He was buried there after he died of illness. During the reign of Emperor Taizong, a gentleman from the royal family who was proficient in geography and Feng Shui passed by this place and saw the beautiful scenery. , with beautiful scenery and royal aura, Miao Guangyi's tomb is full of phoenixes and luannas, with their wings clasped in each other's arms. The tomb is facing the dragon's veins. He was so surprised that he hurriedly reported to the court. The imperial court sent Minister Pan Mei to lead troops to connect the cemetery between the main peaks of the Xiling Mountains. They dug a trench more than 6 feet deep. When blood came out, it stopped. He said: The main vein has been dug, and the descendants of the Miao family will not be able to stand shoulder to shoulder with the emperor. It's just a talented person and a beautiful woman. As expected, no descendants of the Miao family were prominent since the Song and Yuan Dynasties. Later, the Miao family's descendants moved to Lucun, Hebai, Dahuangzhuang and other villages. In the Ming Dynasty, the most prominent women were princes, princesses, wives of generals, and so on. The Pan and Yang families had been at odds for a long time, and Pan Mei falsely accused the Yang family many times in front of the court. In the battle between Lianglang Mountain, Yang Ye was killed and Qilang was killed. After the court knew about it, the Holy Emperor issued an edict, ordering the Yang family to capture Pan Mei and his traitors. The Pan family was on the run and passing through the dense pine forest of Xiaohan Mountain southwest of Song Village. Yang Liulang led his troops to catch up with Pan Mei. Killed at Gaocheyan in Xiaohan Mountain.
Most of the Pan family were captured, and a few people took advantage of dusk to escape to a ravine at the foot of Xiaohan Mountain, where they hid and settled down. So far, this village does not sing operas of the Yang family: "Dense Pine Forest" can be regarded as a historical inheritance. How many years have passed, Miao Guangyi has become more and more popular among the people. People have compiled his story into novels, romances, and ballads. They sang in the ballad of the Pearl Roller Curtain: On the first day of the first month, Liu Bowen walked into the city of Nanjing. Miao Guangyi, the fortune teller, Xu Maogong, the monk, Zhuge Liang, the master of scheming, beheaded Jiang Taigong and made him a god... Guangyi's tomb is still there, with a hilly side, more than 100 meters long from east to west, and more than 80 meters wide from north to south. There is a deep ditch between the tomb and the two ridges, called Niujiaogou. Guangyi's tomb was stolen a few years ago, and the tomb was buried The whereabouts of the product are unknown.
