Appreciation of Cai Feiyue's prose "A Square Tree Monument and Green Mountains"

The waterfall on the left side of the mountain is as powerful as a rainbow. When the sun shines, a rainbow hangs high at the bottom of the waterfall. This spectacle touched the wise man's inspiration, and he named the mountain Hongshan after the symbol of the waterfall. Later, the name of the mountain became the name of the village. Because Hongshan Village is the seat of the township, the name of the village became the name of the township.

The Hongshan Township I visited again is located in Luojiang District, Quanzhou City. The car winds around the mountains and crosses the mountains and fields. The trees, grass and vines are all dominated by emerald green.

After passing through the village, the gentle journey ends in the basin, and then walks through the canyon, from west to east. When encountering stones, white waves will splash, flowing to Mulan Creek and into the East China Sea. The farmhouses on both sides of the stream embankment are of various forms. Most of the old houses are ancient Minnan-style houses, and there are also earth buildings. Together with modern buildings, they vividly outline the space.

At the entrance of Hongshan Village, Shuiwei Bridge, a single-hole stone arch bridge from the Qing Dynasty, spans the stream. How many people have walked on the bridge? The cobblestones on the bridge deck are quite smooth. The Jiupingzhai on the hill south of the stone bridge was a beacon tower used by villagers to guard against theft in ancient times.

The weather is clear and clear this season. The drizzle that has been falling for a few days has just stopped, and the air is particularly fresh. The cool mountain mist is like a veil draped over the face of the village. The green light in her eyes was half moist and half hazy. The natural beauty of the mountain village embodies a changing sense of beauty, and with it, I enjoy a sense of appreciation for the mountains and wilderness.

In the north of the bridge, old pine trees guard the village, with thick branches and hands barely holding each other together. One, two... there is a thin mist curling between the pine needles. In this protected area called Shuiwei, there is a forest protection stone monument with the seal "Shuiwei Tree Stele" on the forehead. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, forest protection monuments of different shapes were erected in various places for forest protection, and the "Shuiwei Tree Monument" was one of them. Nowadays, when visiting Hongshan, it is the common interest of everyone to step in front of the monument and learn about the formation process of the ancient forest in the Feng Shui treasure "Jianshui Hongshan".

The surname Peng is the common surname in Hongshan. It was Peng Jian who erected the "Shuiwei Tree Monument" in 1844. Carefully touching the history of Japan on the ancient stone tablet, I listened to Peng Jian's call to protect the forest. There is a story hidden in this stone tablet: Shuiwei is the final destination of Xixi in Hongshan Village. The ancestors of the Peng family were compassionate and planted a forest of trees on the hillside of Shuiwei, including oil fir, pine and cypress, and miscellaneous trees... towering trees Everyone knows that it is beneficial to Feng Shui, but some unscrupulous people, driven by profit, still secretly cut down trees and transport them out of the mountain village to make profits.

The current situation is worrying. If nothing is done to stop it, the tree-rich Hongshan Mountain may become a bare mountain. Peng Jian couldn't sit still, so one day in February during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, he and the elders in the village decided to demarcate an area to plant miscellaneous trees for daily logging, while the rest of the area was closed to prohibit logging.

Peng Jian is meticulous in his work. He feels that his words are unfounded and erecting monuments as evidence is more inspiring. The 300-word inscription on the stele is quite comfortable for a scholar in the mountains. It is a quotation from scriptures and a propaganda about the benefits of afforestation. "All the bamboos and trees found in the world are taken care of to form a forest and protect the future forever... From now on, no matter whether the surname is the same or different, the house is strong or weak, and it is not allowed to cut it privately, which will cause bad geomantic omen. If you cut down and repeat the past mistakes, Immediately lead the people to kill him, and there will be no mercy: everyone should obey and do not violate it. On the day of the second spring of Daoguang Jiachen in the Qing Dynasty, Sun Peng, the descendant of Cunsu, was established. "The Shenchen year of Daoguang was the 24th year of Daoguang. The inscription is written to this point, which is completely acceptable. Peng Jian thought about it deeply and felt that the wording was a bit broad. "Lead the crowd to kill" was not as effective as the actual terms, so he added a few sentences after the signature: "Those who steal pines, cypresses, miscellaneous trees and thatch are prohibited and will be punished with a performance." Ten kilograms of cake; if any pine or cypress trees are damaged by wind or rain, the profits will be made through public discussion, and no private grabbing or cutting is allowed. "The inscription defines the scope of forest land protection, and stipulates that no matter what the surname is, or whether the family is strong or weak, trees are not allowed to be cut down without authorization. Violations of regulations will be "never tolerated". The supplemented "one ban" and "one order" are easier to operate and boost the intensity of execution.

Quanzhou is the hometown of drama, including Gaojia Opera, Liyuan Opera, Dacheng Opera, Puppet Show... As soon as the gongs and drums sound, the audience flocks to it. Those who illegally cut down pine, cypress, miscellaneous trees and thatch were "fined to have a cake of ten kilograms each." Although the amount was not large, it was not worth it to have someone poke their spines and lose face in front of everyone. So, what should we do if we encounter a violator who cannot afford to hire a troupe? A local friend told of an incident that happened at the beginning of the last century: an old woman living alone in the village, whose family was not well off, went to Shuiwei to pick up dead branches to burn firewood, violating the "one ban" regulation.

The head of the village did not "show off", but gave her money privately, and asked the grandma to take the initiative to pay the fine of "ten kilograms of cakes and a play". This "heartwarming behavior" is not an exception, it has melted and warned generations of people... The greatest truth in the world is to follow the rules and not follow the rules. Only when the rural rules and regulations set by the people are implemented to the letter can they have vitality. Precisely because generations of people have put the idea of forest protection into practice, tree monuments have become a spontaneous self-restraint among the people. Relying on the warning of the forest protection monument, Hongshan has its current beautiful water and bright mountains. The "Fujian Ancient and Famous Trees" iron sign hanging in Shuiwei Ancient Forest shows that there are more than 280 famous trees over 100 years old, with the oldest tree being more than 300 years old. It has been regarded as a Feng Shui forest by local people.

I watched the forest shoots piercing the sky with reverence, and I seemed to grow taller. To the east is a large bamboo forest, which extends to Rainbow Falls. Since there are no cattle and sheep to gnaw, the mountains and fields are greener and more secluded. The crisp chirping of birds sings the song of life.

How to look at this inscription, which is more than 40 years older than the Hubei Shennongjia forest protection monument, and see it squatting at the edge of the village all year round, silently watching the green waves intoxicated by the mountains? I transformed into a happy chanter and climbed up the stone road. The vegetation and bamboos seemed to be full of spirituality. Two butterflies in floral skirts led me through the bamboo forest. Flowers are the highlight of the living environment. Yellow, red, purple, and orange flowers are dotted like stars. When you look up, you can see butterflies perching on the flower stamens, gently shaking their tentacles, as if they are telling some secret of the mountains and forests. language. If you come in March, patches of rapeseed flowers are also Hongshan’s brand.

Walking through the fragrance of mountain flowers, I am sincerely grateful for the sweet rain that once moistened the flowers. The pines and cypresses around me gather around my eyes. They are like thoughtful philosophers, expressing their wise spirit. An atmosphere and realm beyond language are unfolding or forming in the huge green lungs...

The mountains are the backbone of Hongshan Mountain. , the green mountains carry hope! Looking at the scenery from the highlands, the mountains and villages are quiet and harmonious. Its tranquility is like an open light blue artistic conception. The words on the tree stele have become rural regulations and folk conventions, and they have been embedded in the hearts of the people and have been passed down for more than 170 years. The villagers adhere to the concept of cherishing the ecology of their ancestors. The planning and construction of the village are based on nature, ecology, pastoralism, and culture. The main roads focus on greening and beautification, and native trees suitable for growth are planted in front of and behind the houses. From the stream to the waterfall, we carefully create an idyllic leisure sightseeing zone. In the farmland surrounding the tourist belt, rice, sweet potatoes, and vegetables are planted in patches; the mountains here are high and the fog is heavy, which is suitable for growing tea. The village has invested money to renovate the tea farm and introduce high-end oolong tea varieties, which injects an unforgettable fragrance into the days of the farmers.

Walking back to Shuiwei Bridge, the dazzling rays of the sun shine on the mountain and on the moss-covered forest protection stele. In June 2001, the Quanzhou Municipal Government designated the "Shuiwei Tree Monument" as a municipal cultural relics protection unit. Two years later, a cultural relics protection monument was erected next to the tree monument. The historical role of the forest protection monument has been given its due respect. The monument is there, and the soul of the hometown is there. There are trees and monuments on one side, and the mountains are green. Reading the tree stele at Hongshan Mountain in Luojiang, every bit of enlightenment came to my mind.
