Why do Suzhou gardens deliberately avoid symmetry?

Suzhou gardens are private gardens and part of residences. However, the custom of local residences is that the door does not open towards the south, because it is believed that the south belongs to fire and cannot bear the blessing of the emperor. It is tilted to the east in Feng Shui, which is in line with the identity, so the entrance to the courtyard itself is tilted and difficult to be symmetrical.

Although the entire courtyard is asymmetrical, the reception parts of the residence are basically symmetrical, such as the sedan hall and living room in the Master of the Nets Garden and the Humble Administrator's Garden.

What Suzhou gardens pursue is to imitate nature and be better than nature, so naturally there is no symmetry.
