The highest mountain in Suzhou is only 34 1.7 meters. Why did Emperor Qianlong come here six times?

Since ancient times, mountaineering has been one of our favorite tourism projects, especially some famous mountains and rivers with relatively high altitude, which have attracted countless tourists to punch in. In a plain province like Jiangsu, the highest mountain in the country is only 625 meters above sea level, but there are also famous mountains that we relish and are worth visiting. Among them, Dome Mountain, the first mountain in Suzhou, is one of them, and its main peak, Ruomao Peak, is 34 1.7 meters above sea level.

Dome Hill is located in the west of Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, across Guangfu, Mudu and Xukou towns in Wuzhong District. It is an important part of Wuzhong Taihu Lake Tourist Area, a national 5A scenic spot, and the ticket is 80 yuan. Since ancient times, it has attracted many famous writers to visit. It is reasonable to say that at the altitude of Qiuqiu Mountain, for friends who like to climb mountains, the normal speed can reach the top in about 30 minutes. But dome mountain is not like this, and many cultural colors here are the most worthy of tourists' taste and refinement!

First of all, the "dome mountain" plaque at the entrance of the scenic spot is very special. It is the imperial pen of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. "Dome" means sky and height. "Dome" is a traditional religious architectural form in ancient China, commonly known as "Dome", and it is the gateway to temples. The dome hill is raised in the middle of the mountain and droops all around, like a dome. Emperor Qianlong, also known as "Qiuqiu Mountain", has a deep relationship with Qiuqiu Mountain and can be said to be the biggest "spokesman" of this mountain. As far away as Bauhinia in Beijing, he has been to Dome Hill six times.

Because emperor Qianlong came to the mountain six times, there is still an "imperial road" in the scenic spot, which is the road that the Yellow Emperor once walked. As for why Emperor Qianlong came to Suzhou Dome Mountain so frequently, is it because the scenery here is very good? It's really good. When dome mountain found that the vegetation coverage here was high, it was full of negative ions. Stone steps are not single and boring. There are often streams and springs on both banks, and the sound of water is gurgling. When I reached the top of the mountain, I was suddenly enlightened. There is a "lake pavilion" on the mountain. When the visibility is high on sunny days, you can see Taihu Lake here, hence the name.

Seeing the scenery seems not enough to attract Emperor Qianlong to visit six times. The tour guide said, "There is a Taoist temple on the mountain. It is said that the biological father of Emperor Qianlong became a monk here ..." There are also many stories about unofficial history among the people, but the credibility is not high. It's really hard to say whether it's true or not. It's interesting to listen to all this as a story.

Follow the scenic trail to the top platform, and then go up two long steps to reach the highest point. This is a Taoist holy place, called ShangZhenguan. The concept of going to the town has a long history, which can be traced back to the first year of Han Dynasty according to the records of the dome mountain. Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties also recorded in detail. This is somewhat consistent with what the tour guide said about unofficial history.

It is recommended to stay in Dome Mountain for half a day to one day. In addition to climbing mountains, there are different areas such as Sunwu Cultural Park and Wanniao Park. It is worth mentioning that this is the seclusion of Sun Tzu, a great ancient strategist. He wrote thirteen articles of Sun Tzu's Art of War, the first art book in the history of China. Dome Mountain is a treasure house that integrates scenery, religion and culture. You can't miss it because of the low altitude.
