Liupanshui City is a prefecture-level city in Guizhou Province. Liupanshui City is located in the Wumeng Mountains in western Guizhou, with an average annual temperature of 15°C, an average summer temperature of 19.7°C, and an average winter temperature of 3°C. The climate is cool, comfortable, moist and fresh, with moderate ultraviolet radiation. It was awarded the title of "China's Cool Capital" by the Chinese Meteorological Society and is the only city in the country named after its climate characteristics.

Topography and landforms:

The geotectonic structure of Liupanshui City belongs to the Yangtze platform fold belt on the Yangtze quasi-platform. Located on the Yangtze quasi-platform, the Yangtze platform fold belt includes the Weining to Shuicheng fold fold bundles, southwestern Guizhou stack fold fold bundles, and the extreme western edge of the early ancient arch fold bundles in central Guizhou and the ancient depression fold bundles in southern Guizhou.

The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. The central part is undulating violently due to the strong cutting and erosion of Beipanjiang River. The general area altitude is between 1400 and 1900 meters. The highest point on the ground within the territory is Jiucaiping, Dawan Town, Zhongshan District, with an altitude of 2900.3 meters. It is also the highest point in Guizhou Province.
