Introduction of airport garden attractions
Jichang garden draws on Huishan spring water and becomes a waterscape in the garden. Using the technique of borrowing scenery skillfully, we can see the reflection of Longguang Tower on the western hill in the distance, and the layout is quite unique.
Chicken farm garden was once a private garden owned by officials in the Ming Dynasty, and it was also called "the four famous gardens in the south of the Yangtze River" with Nanjing Zhanyuan, Suzhou Humble Administrator's Garden and Liuyuan. The park is centered on the rockery pond, surrounded by buildings such as Pan Yuting Gallery, the threshold of knowing fish, Qixing Bridge, Hanbi Pavilion and Qingyu Gallery. The water of "Er Quan" (Huishan Spring) is also introduced into the gully flow, which is called "Bayin Creek" because of its gurgling sound.
There are other buildings in the park, such as the "Ice Auditorium" in the park and the "Zhai Zhen" in the master's front study. Jichang Garden was deeply loved by Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty. They must visit this garden many times during their southern tour. Now, they can still see the stone tablets of "Mountain Color and Light" by Kangxi and "Jade and Gold Sect" by Qianlong.
The renaming history of Jichang Garden
The garden site in the Yuan Dynasty was two monasteries named Nanyin and Lu Yu. In the 15th year of Zhengde in the Ming Dynasty (1520), Qin Jin, a descendant of Qin Guan, a poet in the Northern Song Dynasty, bought the "Lu Yu Fang" in Huishan Temple, and expanded it on the basis of the original monastery, built a mountain, chiseled a pool, planted flowers and trees, built a villa and changed it into a private garden, named "Gu Feng Walking and Lying".
In the thirty-ninth year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty (1560), Qin Jin's nephew Qin Han and his son Qin Liang deployed Jiangxi, rebuilt the chicken farm garden, "built the garden pool at the foot of Huishan Mountain", chiseled the pool to overlap the mountains, and changed the name of the garden to "Gu Feng Villa". Qin Dezao, the great-grandson of Qin Gui, rebuilt the chicken farm in the early years of Qing Emperor Kangxi, and asked the famous gardener Zhang Lian and his nephew to manage the water in the mountains, so that the landscape would be beneficial.
During the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty, Qin Daoran, the eldest grandson of Qin Dezao, was jailed because of the court struggle, and set aside the chicken farm in the southwest corner to build a chastity hall in Wuxi County. In the 11th year of Qianlong reign in Qing Dynasty, the Qin clan advocated that "only the garden pavilion belongs to the sightseeing place, and a family temple must be built before it can become an immortal", and the family hall in Jichang Garden was changed to "Double Filial Piety Temple", so Jichang Garden was also called "Filial Piety Garden".
