Chaerhan Salt Lake is located in Golmud City, Qinghai Province. It is the largest salt lake in China and one of the most famous inland salt lakes in the world. The Qinghai-Tibet Railway runs through it. The salt lake is160km long from east to west, 20-40km wide from north to south, with a salt layer thickness of 2-20m, covering an area of 5,800km 2,670m above sea level. There are more than 50 billion tons of sodium chloride in the lake, which can be eaten by 6 billion people all over the world 1000. It also produces world-famous carnallite, which is crystal clear and lovely. Accompanied by minerals such as magnesium, lithium, boron and iodine, potassium and salt resources are extremely rich.

"Chaerhan" is Mongolian, which means "salt ze". Salt Lake is located in Gobi Desert, with hot and dry climate, long sunshine time and much higher water evaporation than precipitation. Due to long-term exposure to wind and sun, the lake has formed a high concentration of brine, which gradually crystallized into salt particles, and the lake panel has formed a thick salt layer, which is extremely hard. Incredibly, there is a 32-kilometer-long road and railway running through the salt lake, which is a "salt bridge" floating on the brine. Highway and railway is a section of Golmud-Dunhuang Highway and Qinghai-Tibet Railway.

Located between Kunlun Mountain and Qilian Mountain, the Qaidam Basin is famous at home and abroad as the "cornucopia" of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The heart of the Qaidam Basin is the famous Qarhan. Chaerhan Salt Lake is one of the largest natural salt lakes in the world. Its amazing rich salt resources and 32km-long unique landscape "Zhang Wan Salt Bridge" have made its name resound for more than half a century.
