Xiashan Reservoir, the largest reservoir in Shandong Province

Xiashan Reservoir is located in the middle and lower reaches of Weihe River. During the 1950s and 1960s, a three-kilometer-long river dam was built with 654.38+0.3 million simple and industrious migrant workers from neighboring counties, which cut the Weihe River in the middle and formed the Xiashan Reservoir, the largest reservoir in Shandong Province. The population in the reservoir area moved to the northeast, more than 30 years earlier than that in the Three Gorges reservoir area.

Xiashan Reservoir is named after Xiashan on the west side of spillway gate. Xiashan is also called "Xieshan" by local people. Xiashan is called Xiashan because its northern slope is steep and rugged, and its southern slope is embedded in a canyon. In the early years of Xiashan, there was an air force radar station on the mountain, which had long since been withdrawn. The local villagers built a Taoist temple dedicated to the Jade Emperor on the mountain, and the incense of Bowen Temple was very strong. My hometown is next to Ji Jiao Railway in the north of Xiashan Reservoir. Although I often go back to my hometown, I don't often climb Xiashan. Wait until the top of the mountain has a bird's eye view of Xiashan Reservoir, and the smoke waves are vast and sparkling.
