Views on superstition
In life, many people often equate traditional things such as Buddhism, Taoism, Feng Shui, and Chinese medicine with superstition. This is undoubtedly unreasonable. Some people are superstitious about Buddhism, and some people are superstitious about Feng Shui. So, who is deluded and who believes in it? Is it Buddhism? Is it Feng Shui? No, it’s people who are superstitious, and it’s people who believe. Therefore, it’s people who are superstitious, not Buddhism and Feng Shui. They are just the objects of people’s superstition. Similarly, some people are also superstitious about science. "Unscientific" is the biggest superstition people have about science. Therefore, there are never superstitious things in this world, only superstitious people. Superstition is a state of application of something in real life.
Why science? We use scientific means to understand the world, but why do we do this and what is the purpose? Is it science for the sake of science, or is it to understand the world in order to understand the world? I don't think so. We should apply the objective facts and laws we recognize to solve the problems in our lives so that more people can develop better and longer-term. This is our ultimate goal. Therefore, whether it can solve the problems in our lives is the only criterion for testing a certain method. Therefore, whether it is science, Buddhism, Taoism, Feng Shui, or Chinese medicine, as long as it can solve my problem, I can use it. Nor does it have to stand the test of scientific means.
In short, science can rejuvenate the country, but scientific theory will harm the country. We must stay away from superstition, but attacking and suppressing things other than science is to promote superstition, and to open up, promote and apply other theoretical systems; cultivating people's ability to think independently and make independent judgments is the appropriate way to solve superstition.
