Where is the Sun Ancestral Hall located?
Sun’s Ancestral Hall is a famous scenic spot of archaeological remains in Heze.
The Sun Ancestral Hall is located in Sun's hometown village in Juancheng County. It was built in the fifth year of Jingtai in the Ming Dynasty (1454). It covers an area of more than 10 acres, has 5 main halls, and 3 east and west wing rooms. It was destroyed by war during the year. The family ancestral hall was rebuilt during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty. There are three ancestral halls, facing south and covering an area of 70 square meters. They are brick and wood structures. The architectural form is simple and elegant, with a traditional national style. There is a shrine in the ancestral hall, with a statue of Sun Bin in the middle, and tablets of Sun Bin's descendants displayed on both sides of the shrine. In front of the ancestral hall, there is a family ancestral monument. On the top of the monument is engraved the preface of Sun's family ancestral hall, and on the underside of the monument is engraved an overview of the Sun family's branches.
