How to remove the Passat b5 heater switch?

1. First, carefully pry up the decorative plate and lining plate of the heater at the position indicated by the arrow with a screwdriver.

2. Secondly, unscrew the screw indicated by the arrow.

3. Then remove the center trim panel.

4. Finally, pull out the adjusting device together with the cable from the instrument panel.
