How to raise goldfish in an outdoor pool

1. Build a fish pond

The fish pond is generally 5 square meters to 20 square meters, with a water storage depth of 30 cm and a pool wall height of 40 cm to 50 cm. Each pool is connected in a row and is independent, which is convenient for operation and disease prevention. In addition, it is best to make a 1-meter-high water storage tank (sunbathing tank) with a water storage capacity of one-half of the water requirement of a single fish pond. The bottom of the tank (i.e., the roof) should be resurfaced with No. 200 cement mortar. , 3 cm to 5 cm thick to prevent leakage. The bottom and side walls of the pool are plastered and then smoothed with plain cement grout. While making the side wall (24 cm × 12 cm × 6 cm small bricks are built on the side, and the wall is flat and covered, making it easier to walk and place flower pots), arrange the inlet and drainage pipes.

2. Set up a shade shed

To prevent the water temperature from being too high due to direct sunlight in summer, it is necessary to set up a shade shed. The shade shed should be 1 to 2 meters higher than the pool wall and have a certain ability to withstand wind and rain. The shed is shaded by grapes, loofahs, pumpkins and other vine economic crops or flowers.

3. Stocking of fish species

Five days before stocking, 20 grams of bleaching powder per cubic meter of water should be sprayed evenly to disinfect the fish pond. Before the goldfish enters the pond, soak the fish body with 3 grams of salt water to sterilize it. Generally, the stocking amount per square meter for Longan, Gaotou, Wangtian and other varieties is 100 to 200 tails with a body length of 2 cm, 50 to 100 tails with a body length of 5 cm, and 10 to 20 tails with a body length of 10 cm. Fry can be propagated yourself or purchased.

4. Feeding

Goldfish are omnivorous fish, and productive breeding mainly relies on artificial feed. Here are several methods for preparing artificial compound feeds:

(1) Grind rice bran and bran into fine pieces, steam them and mix them with shrimp powder, cool them and then crush them into granules and dry them in the sun;

(2) Mix 40% fish meal and 60% wheat bran, then add yeast powder with a weight of 0.1% of the mixed powder, mix with a binder of 1 to 2%, steam and process into granules and dry in the sun;

(3) Mix and grind wheat flour with soybean cake, fish meal, and shrimp meal into a paste, add alum and dry in the sun, then knead into granular form (floating). Feed once a day in the morning and afternoon. The amount of feeding should be flexibly controlled according to the "three observations". First, look at the feeding situation. If the feeding is eaten up quickly, it should be increased appropriately, otherwise it should be reduced; second, look at the weather, feed more on sunny days, and feed less or not on hot and rainy days; third, look at the fish activity, the fish body is strong, the water temperature is Invest more when appropriate, invest less or not at all when the disease occurs, and do not invest when the head is about to float or float.

5. Change the water correctly

The purpose of changing the water is to keep the water clean and have enough deep oxygen. Observed with the naked eye, the color of the water is yellow, pink-gray or black-green, fishy and sour, and fish float during the day. The water must be changed in time, otherwise the fish will easily get sick and die. The water source for raising goldfish on the roof is tap water. If the water in the fish pond is changed 1/4 to 1/3, it can be sprayed directly. If the fish pond is completely dry and the water in the pond is changed, the fish should be put back immediately. Then it is necessary to add water that has been exposed to the sun for more than 1 day. pool water to avoid excessive chlorine content in tap water and excessive water temperature differences. Avoid pouring and rushing when changing water. If you can use a leather tube to absorb dirt and add new water, the effect will be better. It is best to keep the water color of the fish pond light green.

6. Disease prevention

The most common diseases of goldfish raised in ponds are saprolegnia, gill rot, vertical scale disease and tail burning disease. Comprehensive preventive measures are:

1. Clean the pond and disinfect with drugs before stocking;

2. Dip and disinfect the fish body before stocking;

3. Antimicrobial drugs are often added to the feed;

4. Keep the pool water light green and non-corrupt;

5. Newly purchased goldfish should be isolated and raised separately for observation to prevent the introduction of diseases;

6. Strengthen the management of grapes and other vine-leaf plants to make them grow lush and enhance the shading effect;

7. When fish diseases are found, they should be treated with appropriate medicines in time.
