Tao Yuanming, a famous writer in ancient China, was inspired by the specific environment and customs in this area, and wrote the immortal masterpiece Peach Blossom Spring, which made yi county enjoy the reputation of "a family in the Peach Blossom Spring" since ancient times. Due to the traffic congestion in history, yi county has rarely suffered from war disasters since ancient times, and Huizhou merchants flourished in the 16th century, leaving more than 4, ancient houses with exquisite architecture and clear style, which were praised by experts and scholars at home and abroad as "the epitome of oriental civilization" and "the artistic treasure house of oriental ancient buildings".

Xidi
Xidi Village is an ancient village with religious blood relationship as the link and Hu surname as the main ethnic group. According to Xidi Hu's Genealogy, Xidi Hu's ancestor was the son of Tang Zhaozong Li Ye. During the reign of Emperor Yu in the Northern Song Dynasty, Hu Shiliang, the ancestor of Hu family, saw the beautiful mountains and rivers here, so he brought a geomancer (Mr. Feng Shui) from his hometown Wuyuan and made a detailed calculation of the landscape here. The whole village was built in the shape of a boat, which means "borrowing water to travel west, getting help from God, taking the true scriptures, and thus making a fortune".
Because Xidi is located in the mountainous area, it has not been attacked by wars or suffered great economic impact in history, which makes the original form of this ancient village well preserved. There are 124 existing Ming and Qing ancient dwellings and 3 ancestral halls in the village, and the roads and water systems are kept intact. The main street, Henglu street, more than 4 lanes and lanes and the unique Qingshiban road are preserved, making Xidi a model in Huizhou ancient villages.

The archway is 12.3 meters high and 9.95 meters wide. It is a single imitation wood stone archway with three rooms, four columns and five floors. The whole archway is built with the local "yi county Qing" marble carving.
