What scenic spots are there in Ningxia?

The scenic spots in Ningxia are Shapotou, Helan Mountain Scenic Area and Liupanshan Mountain.

Shapotou, a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction, a national desert ecological nature reserve, a top 500 environmental protection unit in the world, a top 20 national fitness landscape and a special prize for scientific and technological progress. Shapotou is located at the southeast edge of Tengger Desert in the west of zhongwei, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

It starts from Erdaogou South Forest Protection Room in the east, reaches Toudaodun in the west, connects Tengger Desert in the north and the Yellow River in the south. It is about 38km long and 5km wide, with an altitude of1.300 ~1.500m, with a total area of 4,599.3 hectares, accounting for 3% of the total land area of zhongwei. It is one of the 20 key desertification control areas in China.

Helan Mountain Scenic Area, located at the eastern foot of Helan Mountain, starts from Baisikou in the north and reaches Sanguankou in the south, with a length of more than 30 kilometers from north to south and a width of 4 kilometers from east to west. The main attractions are the White Temple Twin Towers, the Small Rolling Bell Mouth, Suyukou Forest Park, Helan Mountain Rock Paintings, etc. Here, the mountains are stacked, the cliffs are steep and the forest resources are rich. As early as the Xixia period, it was regarded as a summer resort.

Liupan Mountain is one of the youngest mountains in China. There are broad sense and narrow sense. Liupanshan in a broad sense is located in the southwest of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and the east of Gansu Province. The southern section is called Longshan, and the southern section extends to the north of Baoji at the western end of Shaanxi Province.

Spanning the three provinces of Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningxia, it is not only the natural barrier of Guanzhong Plain, but also an important watershed in the north. The Jinghe River, Qingshui River and Hulu River of the Yellow River system all originated here. Liupan Mountain has more rainfall, humid climate, suitable for tree growth, and lush natural secondary broad-leaved forest, making Liupan Mountain a "green island" on the Loess Plateau.
