Family ancestral temple's Ancestral Temple Story
The Lijia Wang Ancestral Hall was built in Yuchi Village with excellent geomantic omen, which was built in the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty. The Wangs here are descendants of Wang Dan (Wang Wenzheng Gong), the prime minister of the Northern Song Dynasty, and Wang Dan's father Wang Hu (Wang Jingong) was an assistant minister of the Ministry of War in the early years of the Northern Song Dynasty. At the beginning, he once "planted three Huai trees in the court, saying,' My descendants will have three officials.' This is what Su Dongpo, a great writer, said about the famous article "Three Huai Tang Ming" in "The View of Ancient Chinese". In the future, no matter where Wang's descendants migrated, if they built a ancestral hall, they would all be named "Sanhuaitang". In 186, the peasant army of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom entered Yuchi Village and saw such a towering ancestral hall, but it didn't have the heart to burn it down. In December 1937, Changzhou fell, and the Japanese invaders were afraid of such a majestic ancestral hall and didn't dare to blow it up. During the Anti-Japanese War, Qian Zhenhuang, a Jiangnan scholar, took refuge here with his whole family. Yuejiatang in Furong is the settlement of descendants of Yue Fei. The Yueshi Ancestral Hall is basically well preserved so far, and it can be restored to its original appearance as long as it is rebuilt. In the 194s, the Japanese captured more than 4 farmers in the ancestral hall, and they hung them from the beams. Roast them with fire and force them to give up the New Fourth Army. Later, farmers made a hole in the back wall of the ancestral temple, and 4 farmers were able to escape. The Japanese became angry and killed three villagers in the west of the ancestral temple in retaliation. National hatred is still in the hearts of the people in Yuejiatang. During the Great Leap Forward in 1958, a township cadre tried to throw out the ancestral tablets. Just after throwing a few pieces, a gust of wind blew through his mouth and immediately tilted. In private, the villagers said that ancestors showed their spirits and punished the wicked. This statement, of course, is not credible. Now it seems that the cold wind caused facial paralysis.
The Lushi Ancestral Hall was restored in Dingyan in 24, and the word "Lushi Ancestral Hall" was found carved on a brick one hundred years ago. The calligraphy is simple and lovely. Lushi's first ancestor was Lu Yuanguang, the Jinling Tomb of the Northern Song Dynasty. Su Dongpo was always with him before his death. Lu Yuanguang Zeng Zeng gave Su Dongpo a lazy board, and Su Dongpo died of illness on the lazy board, with an inscription of 66 words (written by Changzhou people Cangwu Taitai). Lazy board is a kind of couch-style couch, and Lu Xiaoman, a talented woman in modern times, is from this temple. In 25, when Mr. Ding Wenzhi, a famous Thai entrepreneur, learned that his ancestors were descendants of Ding Baochen and Ding Zongchen, brothers of the Northern Song Dynasty in Shuangguifang, Changzhou, he was so excited that he couldn't sleep all night. In March 26, when Ding Wenzhi saw Ding Shi Genealogy, he was even more excited. Later, Ding Wenzhi led a clan association in Ding Shi, Thailand to seek roots in Changzhou. When he entered the Ding Shi Ancestral Hall in Henglin, the old man couldn't help but burst into tears. He burned incense and prayed devoutly. After returning to Thailand, Mr. Ding Wenzhi vigorously promoted the economic and cultural exchanges between Thailand and Changzhou, which has become a beautiful talk.
Most of the ancestral halls in Changzhou have retained their original features. Generally, there are original stone drums and doorstones, some are stone lions, many exquisite brick carvings and stone carvings, and the patterns include flowers, insects and birds, and the Eight Immortals crossing the sea. The moon beam of doors and windows has exquisite patterns, exquisite knife cutting and round carving. It is a typical Jiangnan style and has a high artistic level. The ancestral hall in Changzhou has also expanded its functions and become an exhibition hall for some past items of agricultural tools. Zhao's ancestral hall has many agricultural tools and daily necessities that are about to disappear, such as stone mill, oil lamp, rake, stone mortar for rice, silkworm plaque, mud clip for river mud, etc., which is like a museum of agricultural tools. The artifacts such as artificial water pressure and fire fighting dragons preserved in the Feng ancestral hall in Henglin are also refreshing.
Today, the ancestral temple has become a tourist resource for people to remember their ancestors' hard work and their ancient love. Many people of insight also suggested that Changzhou should make full use of this rich historical and cultural heritage left by its ancestors. For example, a piece of land can be set aside for some ancestral halls to be demolished for construction needs to be rebuilt, and new tourism resources can be formed relatively centrally.
