Where is the Xiao ancestral hall at the foot of the mountain?
The Yamashita Xiao Ancestral Hall is located in Yamashita Natural Village, Shuyang Village, Shuyang Town, Nanjing County, with a history dating back to the Qing Dynasty.
Brief Introduction: It is composed of Shushan Temple and Gan Yuan Temple, which are adjacent to each other and east-west. There is a half moon pool in front of the temple and three pairs of stone flagpoles. There are tires and geomantic forests behind the temple. Shushan Temple was built in the sixth year of Qin Long in Ming Dynasty (1572) and rebuilt in the thirty-first year of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty (1692), covering an area of 1960 square meters and a building area of 798 square meters. Gan Yuan Temple was built in the middle of Qing Dynasty and rebuilt in the 11th year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty (1872). It covers an area of about 840 square meters and has a building area of 422.8 square meters. Both temples are composed of vestibule, main hall, inner patio and veranda, with two entrances and two partitions, mixed wooden frames and beams hanging from the top of the mountain. Wood structures such as beams, arches and flower boards are mostly decorated with carvings and paintings. This ancestral hall is the Xiao ancestral hall of Shushan School in Zhangzhou, Taiwan Province Province and other places at home and abroad.
Protection scope: the west bank of Chi Pan extends 20m, the back wall of the main hall of the two temples extends 20m, and the north and south wings of the two temples extend10m respectively.
In 20 18, the Yamashita Xiao ancestral hall was announced by the Fujian Provincial People's Government as the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural relics protection units.
