What are the myths and legends of Rong County?
1. Tiangouwangjie
In Shizhai village of rongxian county, there is a stone mountain called "Wangjiegou", which looks after Rongzhou day and night like a god dog. According to the elders, whenever something big happens, the street dog will shake the golden bell under its neck as a signal to tell people. Legend has it that the golden bell of the street dog also rang when the Japanese invaded Rong County. This street dog turned out to be a heavenly dog favored by the Jade Emperor. Once, it broke the dogma, which angered the Jade Emperor. The Jade Emperor broke his foot and demoted him to the mortal world, just falling to this place in Rong County. A kind old man took him in and found herbs to cure his feet. Tengu thanked him very much. That year, it happened to be a drought, and the floating dust on the ground was three feet thick, leaving only a trickle of embroidered river on the ground. The crops died of drought, and even the draught was very difficult. People ate everything they could eat and even killed all the cattle to save their lives. Tengu sympathizes with people's sufferings. He helps people pull plows and farm every day. There was a state official who knew that Tiangou worked for people and hated it very much, so he told the Jade Emperor what was wrong with Tiangou. The Jade Emperor thought that Tiangou was a disgrace to heaven, so he sent heavenly soldiers and generals to collect Tiangou. It was that night that Tiangou stole a piece of pig Wang Shi from Heaven, and prepared to plug the pig's tooth gorge in Xiujiang River with it, so that the river rose and the drought was relieved. When it took Wang Shi, the pig, over Rongzhou, it suddenly heard the cries of the heavenly soldiers and generals, so it had to leave Wang Shi, the pig, and run away in a hurry, ready to go to the old man's house to hide for a while. However, before I could enter the house, I was caught up by the heavenly soldiers. Tengu refused to return, and was immediately turned into a stone mountain. Now, Tengu is still looking at Rongzhou, the place where he lived, guarding the kind people here day and night. Therefore, people call it "street dog".
2. Money Cave
In ancient times, there was a grotto in the middle of the Kunshi stone wall of the money cave. It was said that money had been given, so it was called the money cave.
long ago, a rich man transported a large amount of ill-gotten wealth to Rongcheng in an attempt to bribe county officials. There is a fairy named Liu Gen in Nanshan who hates this kind of behavior in his heart. When the rich man's money is transported to the roadside of Qianku, he immediately points out the money and distributes it to the poor people passing by. Liu Gen's fairy also hides the rest of the money in Qianku Kun, and whenever a person passes by, Qianku Kun will slip out a penny as transitional money. However, the fairy has a rule that everyone is only allowed to take a penny every time. The poor people are very disciplined. For a long time, the money to pay for the cave kept flowing.
it's like spreading wings to every household. The rich man who lost money had a bad idea when he heard the news. He carried a hoe, trying to dig the money hole and get it back. He dug and dug, and a stone hit him on the forehead. Soon after he was carried home, he went to die.
The grottoes are still intact, and the poor still take money. Many years passed, and the rich man's son was greedy. Knowing that hard digging was no good, he took several sacks and planned to take all the money. However, when he got the second penny, a flying stone hit him on the chest, and his heart was around the cave. Since the grotto was polluted by that despicable heart, he would never give money again.
3. Big vicious tortoise snake
In ancient times, there was a state official and a rich man who colluded with each other and oppressed his neighbors. The people were so poor that they ate bran and swallowed wild vegetables, and everyone hated it.
One day, they called four bearers and carried them to Qiaoshan with bamboo sedan chairs. When the sedan chair was carried to the Dabei dam, the sedan chair bearers drank in unison, threw them into Dabei and drowned. After these two guys died, one turned into a big turtle and the other into a giant snake. Every day, they shit and pee in the big pond, making the water dirty. At that time, there were no wells here. For generations, people used to drink the water from the big pond. Since the turtle and snake turned the water into dirty water, people ate this dirty water, and many people got yellow swelling, which made people's lives more bitter. People had no choice but to pray to heaven, hoping to get rid of the giant tortoise and snake. The prayers of the villagers touched an immortal in Baogaiyan. One day, he flew out of the rock, brought out a thunder god, aimed at the tortoise and snake and burned it. Tortoise and snake dodged from left to right, unable to resist, and had to fly away. The immortal chased after him, and the tortoise and snake got into Guishan and Sheshan respectively and disappeared. After the big turtle and the giant snake were driven away, the water in Dabei became clear and sweet, and the villagers under Dabei drank the water and no longer got yellow swelling.
The Records of Rongxian County records: "Dabei, forty years after Kangxi, there was a big storm, and a big turtle and a huge snake flew out, so naturally there was no yellow swelling."
4. Chumi Temple
There are more than 1 cliffs from the left corner of the northern cave's Wapo Rock, and the walls are steep and dangerous. No wonder the predecessors looked at the cliffs and sighed: "The caves in the northern cave are mostly in the air, and it is impossible to fly!" Climb to the top of the mountain, and then step down along the back of the mountain. There is a cave about the same height as Daipo Rock. This cave is the Chumi Temple that has been passed down through the ages.
A long time ago, there were many immortals in famous temples all over the country. These immortals were Xianggong, Taoists and monks. Although they practiced Buddhism, they still didn't take off their bones. The immortals in Guilin went to check whether the little immortals around the country were sincere or not, and whether their hearts were good or not. He wanted those little immortals who practiced well to ascend to the celestial world. How to check the exam? The fairy came up with a clever test method. At that time, landlords in the upper reaches of Meijiang River often transported large quantities of exploited rice to Rongcheng. At that time, there was no road, so we had to transport it by wooden boat from Meijiang River. When the boats loaded with rice arrived at Guzhuo (the name of a river bend) in Shizhai, the immortals sank the boats, ground the rice into shells, and then went down the river to Ma Feng Beach in Xiujiang to wash the rice. The rice shells flowed out from Zhuya Gorge, and the white rice was hidden in Yumi Temple in Nanshan. When the poor really have no rice to cook, the rice comes out of the rice hole in the west stone wall from the rice temple. Xianggong in the temple has been feeding on those rice since then.
strangely enough, every time the rice overflows, only porridge can be cooked, not cooking. After cooking, one person is full, two people are enough to eat, and more people eat and swell up. At first, the Xianggong in the temple was very pious. Every morning when porridge was cooked, he burned incense first, then worshipped Buddha after ringing the bell, and then ate porridge after finishing the Buddha. Coincidentally, every time after ringing the bell, there was a rotten monk who came to the temple on time. Xianggong began to politely invite: "Here is porridge, please eat it together." After ten and a half days, the rotten-footed monk still came to eat porridge on time. The Xianggong's face stiffened and he stopped greeting him. The rotten-footed monk pretended not to see it, took a bowl to eat porridge by himself, ate the porridge and left without saying anything. After a long time, the fragrant monk was furious. First, he hated the rotten-footed monk for getting something for nothing, and then he hated his rotten feet for being smelly and dirty. In order not to let him come again, he thought and thought about a good way to drive out the wandering monk. On this day, he finished his porridge before ringing the bell. As soon as the bell rang, the rotten-footed monk came. When he saw the earthenware pot, there was no porridge at all. The rotten-footed monk understood everything. He looked at Xianggong and nodded, sighed, pointed out the Mi Temple, and read:
It's time to porridge at the morning, but it's time to porridge at the present.
the Buddha went to the west, and the Nanshan Mi Temple was empty.
With a wave of his hand, a crane flew from the clouds for half a day, and the monk rode on the crane and flew away. Then Xianggong realized that this rotten-footed monk wanted to make him immortal, and he regretted his ignorance. He knelt on the ground and kowtowed repeatedly to apologize and repent, but it was too late, and the immortal in Guilin had flown away. From then on, the rice was no longer produced in the Mi Temple, and later generations swam out of the Mi Temple with a poem sighing:
The southern cave broke the tablet and buried the old seal, and the northern hall grew new moss in the barren path.
The wind is blowing in the misty clouds, and it is suspected that a fairy is driving a crane back.
5. Zhenwu Pavilion
Zhenwu Pavilion is famous all over the country. It is said that it was a masterpiece created by Master Lu Ban overnight.
Master Lu Ban had long been determined to build a peculiar pavilion. He collected a batch of the most solid lattice, worked hard day and night, sawed, sharpened the axe and planed, and finished all the components needed for building the pavilion, such as columns, backbones, eaves columns, arches, citrons, beams and so on. After that, Master Lu Ban went to find the place to build the pavilion.
Master Lu Ban climbed mountains and mountains, and went from village to village. One day, he came to the twenty caves-at the foot of Dujiao Mountain. The magnificent sight of Dujiao Mountain attracted him deeply. He wants to climb the highest peak and choose the place to build the pavilion, but he doesn't know the way. The owner of a family at the foot of the mountain warmly invited him into the house, brought him white rice porridge to satisfy his hunger and thirst, and took out salted cabbage. Master Lu Ban drank this porridge and felt refreshed all over. After eating and drinking, the host personally led the way and took him to the incense burner peak. Master Lu Ban stood at the top of the mountain, looking north, Rongzhou looked like a phoenix spreading its wings, with a beautiful river, a green water and a fog cover in Yunfu, which was as beautiful as a fairyland. He looked at the phoenix wings carefully. Oh, no, this phoenix is really going to fly! Master Lu Ban felt uncomfortable in his heart. It turned out that he fell in love with this place! He saw beautiful mountains and rivers, not only beautiful mountains and rivers, but also better people. How cordial and sincere the master who has never met him is to him! So, he decided to build the pavilion on the phoenix wing. One side of the phoenix wing fell on the river bend in the east of the city, and the other one was on the Zhuoying Pavilion in the west. Master Lu Ban spotted the place and hurried down the mountain to Phoenix Wing.
Master Lu Ban walked to the selected place, and a group of soldiers walked past him with broadswords and spears. Not far away is a military camp. He was surprised and went down the high slope. Under the shade, several old people were chatting. They whispered about the state officials setting up checkpoints to collect people's wealth regardless of the lives of the people. When this word reached Lu Ban's ears, he couldn't help hesitating. If he builds a castle here, the patrolling soldiers will report to the state official, and the greedy state official will blackmail and obstruct it, and the building will not be built. Why don't you build it somewhere else? Lu Ban is also obsessed with the beautiful scenery of Rongzhou and wants to benefit the people here. After much reasoning, he decided to go to great pains to build the pavilion overnight. This is a very huge project. Just transporting timber will bring more than 1 Hercules, and there will be more people transporting mortar, tile ridge, tile decoration and installation. Master Lu Ban is a man who does what he says. He has traveled all over the villages in Rongzhou. When he saw the strong offspring, he sat down to chat with them and told them that he was going to build a castle on a certain day and asked them to help him. Master Lu Ban's name was a household name at that time, and everyone admired him. When the younger generation saw him visit in person, they readily agreed. Master Lu Ban found enough porters and went to find a carpenter. These carpenters regard Master Lu Ban as a granddaddy and a fairy. When he opens his mouth, everyone tries to help build the building. Having found enough people, Lu Ban turned the strength of all people into divine power. In a moment, the wood arrived. After it was dark and quiet, he used all his skills to build a castle. Before dawn, the majestic Zhenwu Pavilion stood on the edge of Xiujiang River. Those who promised Master Lu Ban to build a pavilion, at the appointed time, waited for Master Lu Ban to call them, and waited for Master Lu Ban. After dawn, although they didn't go to build a building, they felt more tired than building a three-day building. Little did they know that before they knew it, Master Lu Ban had borrowed them to build Zhenwu Pavilion.
After dawn, surrounded by patrol soldiers, the state officials arrived at Zhenwu Pavilion in a sedan chair. He got out of the sedan chair and looked up. In front of him, he saw a wonderful pavilion, with brown oranges and green tiles, swallows flying in the air and dragons crouching. Under the sunrise, the weather was myriad. Stunned, the state official looked outside, and there was a belly that could not be covered with official clothes. He went inside to have a look. He asked the soldiers to measure it while watching it. The three-story pavilion was three feet, three feet and six inches high. The whole pavilion is built with nearly 3, lattice members of different sizes, without a nail. What is even more amazing is that there are four inner columns on the second floor, which bear the heavy load of the upper floor, beam frame, columns, roof tiles and ridges, but the column feet are suspended! State officials suspected that the pavilion was built by a fairy, so they did not tear it down, and Zhenwu Pavilion became a scenic spot in Rongzhou.
6. Legend of the embroidered river
Legend has it that a long time ago, the embroidered river was much bigger than it is now, several times as much as it is now! Why is this? At that time, there was a water hose in the water, which spouted water every day. The people who lived by the river would either drown or be eaten by the ferocious water hose. One day, a brave man with a sword came to Rong county and heard several young people talking: "I heard that the water dragon that embroidered the river killed many people!" " "Yes, yes! Last time an official went to see it, he was also eaten. " ? When the warrior heard this, he immediately ran over and asked, "Where is the embroidered river? I'm going to destroy that hose and kill the people! " An old man came up and said, "You can't beat it, just because you want to kill the people so much, I'll tell you!" " Say that finish, with the warriors came to the embroidered river. After arriving at Xiujiang River, the warrior turned around and wanted to thank the old man, but the old man didn't know where to go. The warrior thought: Maybe he was afraid to leave first. Then, he went to the river and shouted loudly, "Monster, come out quickly, and I will leave you with no bones today!" " At this time, there was a vortex in the river, and the waterspout came out. He said angrily, "You overreached. Today, it is you who have no bones left!" When the warrior heard this, without saying anything, he immediately pulled out his sword and fought with the hose. Because the waterspout was in the river for a long time, it was not as flexible as a warrior and could not beat the warrior, so it used its own magic to create several waterspouts like it. The warrior picked up the sword and cut off the tail of a waterspout at once, but because he was outnumbered, he took the lead in later battles. At this time, several hoses sprayed water together, trying to drown the warrior. At this time, the old man flew out before. With a wave of his hand, lightning struck the hose, and the hose was knocked unconscious. The old man trapped the hose and vibrated it under the river. At this time, the warrior understood that the old man was a fairy! The fairy said to him, "I have been watching you secretly. You are a person who thinks of the people. You can also be a fairy. Come with me to heaven!" " "No, you're right. You should think of the people. It's safe here, but other places may not be safe. I'd better continue to kill pests for the people!" With that, he picked up his sword and walked away. Since then, the people on the edge of the embroidered river have never been attacked by monsters again!
7, 2 caves
According to the legend of villagers, in ancient times, there was a shepherd boy at the foot of Nanshan, who went to Nanshan to herd cattle. One day, he went to the cave to enjoy the cool, saw a round hole and got into it curiously. The deeper you go, the wider and brighter the cave becomes. He jumped from a rock to a cliff, and I don't know how many miles he walked, but he came to a place that was different, with a high ceiling and strange rocks, and a clear stream, and I don't know where the source was. Further on, there are two cliffs, a bird path, idle clouds and flowing water. Straight into the stream, the wonderland is open, the four mountains are arched, the smallpox is scattered, the trees stand on the edge of the pool, and the white deer walk on the cliff. Suddenly I saw two old people sitting opposite the stone table. They were playing chess. I saw that every bite of the old man, there was a dung beetle (dung beetles, Rong county name, excrement worm) flying into their mouths, and then he spit out a bright red and ripe litchi stone and ate it with relish. The shepherd boy was very curious. When an old man saw that he was fascinated, he caught two dung beetles from the air and gave them to the shepherd boy. The shepherd boy got the nerve to put them in his mouth and immediately turned them into Danli, which was very sweet and delicious. With the passage of time, the chess has become a mess. The shepherd boy suddenly remembered his cow and left the hole. When I got to the mouth of the cave, the cow was gone, but I saw the dusk.
