1. "Send Du Shishi to the South of the Yangtze River"

1. Original text

Jingwu and Jingwu are connected by water as their hometown. When you go to the spring river, it is vast.

Where to anchor the sail at dusk, the sight of the horizon will break your heart.

2. Translation

The two lakes, Jiangsu and Zhejiang are closely bordered, and the rivers are crisscrossing the countryside. You go at a time when the river is full of spring and the water is filled with smoke and clouds.

The dusk is deep and late, where can the lonely boat stop? My heart follows my friends to the horizon, and my heart breaks with infinite longing.

2. "Farewell to Wang Changling in Lingnan"

1. Original text

When traveling far and near from Dongting, the maple leaves startle autumn early.

Xianshou Yang Gong loves, Changsha Jia Yi worries.

The earthy hair has no tassels, and the local flavor has a rough texture.

Already suffering from chronic illness, it is even more worrying.

I have been using the same pen and inkstone for several years, and now I am wearing a quilt in the evening.

Where is the spirit now? I miss the bullfight.

2. Translation

Dongting carries mountains far and near. The maple leaves are as red as red, the first sign of cold autumn.

Xianshou Mountain won the love of the sheep, and Changsha City once made Jia Yi sad.

It is a custom in Lingnan that clothes are made of silk and linen, and fish, a specialty of my hometown, are often found on the head.

I am seriously ill and difficult to treat, which adds to your worry of being possessed by a demon.

We have been working together for several years, but starting from tonight, we have to spend long nights and days separately.

Where will the situation of congeniality be? The only way to understand lovesickness is to look south at the bullfight.

1. "Send Du Shishi to Jiangnan"

Meng Haoran's friend Du Huang is leaving After arriving in Soochow from Jingdi, Meng Haoran wrote this farewell poem to see off his friend Du Huang. This poem starts from describing the scenery, and through the strong contrast between the vast spring river and the leaf of the lonely boat, it sends out an affectionate question, in which the concern and attachment to friends are most vividly expressed.

The poet looks at the boat going further and further away, and the farewell person looks to the horizon, completely blind, and can't help feeling like a spring river, surging. "Breaking people's hearts" pushes the farewell to a climax, and ends the whole poem at the climax. The sorrow of separation is endless and leisurely.

This poem uses loose sentences, like flowing clouds and flowing water, and is written in a close-song style. It is full of charm. It is not only exceptional in the design and wording, but also naturally and smoothly expresses the poet's deep yearning for his friends. It also reflects the sincere friendship between the poet and his friends.

2. "Farewell to Wang Changling in Lingnan"

In the winter of the twenty-eighth year of Kaiyuan (740), he was appointed Jiang Ningcheng. In the autumn of the sixth year of Tianbao (747), he was demoted to Long Biaowei. After the Anshi Rebellion, he fled to Jianghuai and was killed by Wen Qiuxiao, the governor of Haozhou. This poem was written around the time when Wang Changling was banished to Lingnan and passed through Xiangyang.

The poem begins with the autumn mood in Dongting, giving people a sense of desolation. Then he used Yang Hu and Jia Yi as metaphors to praise Wang Changling's political achievements and talents, and expressed deep sympathy and concern for Wang Changling's exile to uncivilized Lingnan.
