How old is a child suitable for sketching?
Winning a prize for children's painting does not mean that they can engage in this profession in the future. The transition from children's painting to adult painting is basically incoherent. Even though many children's painting champions have received good professional training, they still can't maintain their advantages in the adult painting stage.
If you send your child to learn sketching too early, it will interfere with his imagination and force him to draw in an incomprehensible way, which will only undermine his creativity and be harmful. Children who have been exposed to early adult art education can skillfully draw cubes and cones through flat cables, but their real modeling ability is not stronger than that of children who have never learned it, and their relative imagination and divergent thinking ability are even worse.
Of course, gifted children are not excluded. Some super-long children, such as Picasso, have different understanding of natural space from ordinary people. 12-year-old portrait sketch has exceeded the adult level. This kind of child is rare, and it is difficult to meet one after years of teaching. Judging from your children's paintings, they don't belong to this kind of children. So I suggest you don't have to train him in a hurry.
