How to clean mercury
1, take the children and pets out of the room quickly, and remember not to clean mercury with vacuum cleaners, brooms, rags, etc.
2. Clean mercury and keep indoor ventilation. If the room temperature can be adjusted, try to lower the room temperature, which can reduce the volatilization of mercury and promote condensation. If mercury falls on the smooth floor such as ceramic tiles, you can choose a hard paper shell, scraper, etc. And scrape from the periphery of the scattered part near the ground to the center. You can see that the mercury balls will gradually gather into big balls, and then gently shovel the mercury balls and seal them in plastic bags. If mercury is scattered on rough surfaces such as carpets or bed surfaces, it can be adhered with adhesive tape and then sealed in plastic bags with adhesive tape. It is suggested to lay more plastic bags to prevent cracking and leakage.
3. Keep the room ventilated for at least 24 hours, raise the room temperature as much as possible, and turn on the fans, doors and windows. Don't enter the room during ventilation. If mercury is not handled correctly or the floor is cleaned with a mop, it is recommended to extend the ventilation time for at least 24 hours.
4. Dealing with mercury pollution. For clothes and shoes contaminated by mercury, it is best to discard them, or wash them several times, and hang them in a well-ventilated place without children for 3-5 days to ensure the complete volatilization of mercury. Remember not to use the washing machine or dryer directly to clean clothes that may be contaminated with mercury.
