The area to which Fengfeng Mining Area belongs is Handan City, Hebei Province. Fengfeng Mining Area is located in the south of Hebei Province, at the junction of Shanxi, Hebei and Henan provinces. It was established in 1950 and came under the direct jurisdiction of Hebei Province in 1952. In 1955, it was changed to Fengfeng City under provincial jurisdiction.
