Evolution of organizational system in Amdo county

Amdo, which means "end or lower part" in Tibetan. Historically, Tibetan residents here called themselves "Amdo" because their living area was in the lower part of the whole Tibetan area.

Before the democratic reform in Tibet, there were four tribes in Amdo, belonging to thousands of Amdo families and Qiang people. 1959 After the democratic reform, Anduo County was built, belonging to Naqu District.

1960 moved to Lianghe in the second half of the year. 1961September moved to Pana, 1975 Amdo County People's Committee moved from Amdo to Pana.

1970, Naqu area was renamed Naqu area, and Amdo county has been under the jurisdiction of Naqu area since then. When the county was established, I temporarily stayed in Larry.

1997, the county governs 17 townships: Buqu Township, Bangai Township, Cuoma Township, Doma Township, Desha Township, Guozu Township, Gangni Township, Jiri Township, Jiaao Township, Maqu Township, Ma Rong Township, Nase Township, Qiangma Township, Sewu Township, Tandui Township.

In 2002, Amdo county was changed from 1 district, 17 township and 136 township to 35 administrative villages in 4 towns, 9 towns and 30 neighborhood committees: Panna town, Zharen town, Yanshiping town, Qiangma town, Maqu town, Cuomai town, Bangai town and Tandui town.

In 2006, Amdo County administered 4 towns and 9 townships: Zharen Town, Yanshiping Town, Qiangma Town, Pana Town, Cuoma Township, Tandui Township, Zhaqu Township, Gangni Township, Maqu Township, Sewu Township, Ma Rong Township, Doma Township and Bangai Township, with a total of 79 administrative villages. The county government is located in Pana Town. (Note: Yanshiping Town and its 8 administrative villages, Doma Township and its 7 administrative villages, Ma Rong Township and its 4 administrative villages, Maqu Township and its 12 administrative village, Sewu Township and its 3 administrative villages are all in Qinghai Province).
