The reasons for the formation of desert lakes in this area are as follows:

1. Extreme high temperature weather leads to snowmelt and frequent rainfall, resulting in floods. Part of the floodwater failed to penetrate into the desert in time, thus forming "lakes" in the desert.

2. The Tarim River Basin releases ecological water to the original Populus euphratica forest, plus floodplain water overflowing after warning floods occur in the Tarim River Basin, thus forming a "lake".
