How to paste brick-shaped wallpaper
Hello, the method of pasting brick wallpaper is as follows:
Paste wallpaper
Materials required: Glue, water, wallpaper, adhesive
Tools needed: tape measure, pencil, scissors, brush, rag, thread weight, ruler, caulking roller
Preparation before wallpapering
Before wallpapering, Repair cracks and dents on the wall, especially where there are wall lamps, because flaws under the wallpaper will be obvious under the light of the wall lamps. Try to clean the room first, remove shelves and remove light fixtures if possible. Cover the floor with a dust sheet, not a polythene sheet, which can become slippery if wet.
Glue on the wall
Applying a layer of glue on the wall first can prevent the wall from absorbing the adhesive and causing the wallpaper to not stick firmly. It can also make the wall Becomes slippery, making it easier to slide the wallpaper into the correct position. Please refer to the instructions on the wallpaper for what slurry to apply.
Use an adhesive-coated brush to spread the slurry evenly over the entire wall. If the slurry gets on painted wooden components, wipe it off immediately with a damp cloth or sponge, otherwise it will be difficult to remove once it solidifies.
Prepare the adhesive
Choose the appropriate adhesive according to the type of wallpaper and prepare it according to the instructions.
1. First pour the specified amount of cold water into the bucket, then slowly add the required amount of adhesive powder and mix thoroughly without clumping.
2. Generally, it takes 15 minutes before it can be used after being adjusted, but some can be used immediately.
Cutting wallpaper
1. Take a roll of wallpaper, see the direction of the pattern, and decide which direction is up.
2. Starting from the top of the skirting board, use a steel tape measure to measure the height of the wall. The height measured in different places in the same room may be different, so you need to measure several places, take the maximum value, and add 4 inches for trimming at both ends.
3. Unfold the wallpaper on the adhesive-coated table, face down, measure the length, and draw a line on the back with a pencil.
4. Use scissors to cut the wallpaper along the line.
5. Turn over the cut wallpaper, unfold the remaining wallpaper, and align it with the corners of the wallpaper on the opposite side and the pattern. Using the first piece of wallpaper as a standard, cut out the second piece of wallpaper. Repeat the above steps to cut out a batch of wallpapers and write the paste order on the back.
Apply adhesive
1. Stack the cut wallpaper on the table, face down.
2. Pull the left end of the top piece of wallpaper to the edge of the table and lay it flat, and let the right end hang down from the other side of the table.
3. Align the left end of the wallpaper with the edge of the table and apply adhesive. Any adhesive spilled on the table should be wiped off immediately with a damp cloth. Some people like to extend the edge of the wallpaper by about 1/4 inch from the edge of the table to prevent adhesive from being applied to the table. However, the extended part is suspended underneath and is difficult to apply.
4. Dip the brush into the adhesive and scrape it on the rope at the mouth of the bucket to scrape off the excess adhesive.
5. Paint a line along the center of the wallpaper.
6. Then paint from the center to both sides in a figure-eight shape.
7. Check whether the adhesive is evenly applied and whether there is any leakage, especially on the edges. Then lift up the left end of the wallpaper and fold the adhesive-coated part in half, being careful not to create creases. Pull the wallpaper to the left so that the adhesive-coated section hangs over the left side of the table.
8. Apply the adhesive one by one according to the above steps until all is applied.
9. Fold the right half of the paper in half so that the first and last ends just touch each other, and you can identify which end is the upper end. When cutting wallpaper, you can mark the word "up" on the back of the upward end, or apply adhesive from the downward end of the wallpaper first, so that the end that is folded later must be the upward end.
10. If there is adhesive on the table or cut wallpaper, wipe it off immediately with a damp cloth.
11. Wallpaper coated with adhesive should be left for a period of time according to the instructions on the package to absorb the moisture in the adhesive. Thin wallpapers and vinyl wallpapers can generally be put on the wall immediately after applying the adhesive. Thicker wallpapers usually need to be left for 10 to 15 minutes. If left for insufficient time, it will continue to expand or bubbles will appear after being attached to the wall.
12. While the first piece of wallpaper is sitting to absorb moisture, you can apply adhesive to other wallpapers. Each piece of wallpaper should take the same amount of time to absorb moisture, otherwise the pattern will be difficult to align.
The first piece of wallpaper should be applied from the corner of the wall adjacent to the main window. This way, no shadows will appear when the wallpaper edges overlap.
Paste the first wallpaper
Start from the wall adjacent to the main window and stick it from the bright area to the dark area. In this way, even if the wallpaper edges overlap, there will be no shadow and the overlap will not be obvious. If there is more than one wall with windows, use the largest window as the main light source.
Follow the following steps, starting from the right side of the wall with the main light source window, and post one in a clockwise direction. Left-handers can start on the left side.
1. Use a pencil to make a mark 19 inches from the top corner of the wall so that the wallpaper has enough width to transfer from this wall to the wall with the window.
2. Hang a plumb line along the wall at the mark, and use a pencil to draw a marking line along the plumb line. Check whether the distance between the marked line and the corner of the wall is consistent up and down. If the wall corners are not straight and the distance is greater than 19 inches in some places, the wallpaper will not have enough width to be transferred to the adjacent wall.
You can move the plumb line closer to the corner and redraw the marking line.
3. Take the adhesive-coated wallpaper to the wall, gently uncover the upper folded part, and hold both sides with your hands. Don't let the bottom half of the wallpaper drop suddenly as it could crack or stretch out of alignment with the rest of the wallpaper.
4. Lift the upper right corner of the wallpaper and align the right side of the wallpaper with the marked line.
Note: Approximately 2 inches or 50 mm should be left at the top of the wallpaper for trimming purposes.
5. When aligning the right half of the wallpaper with the marked line, do not let the edge of the left half touch the wall.
6. After aligning the right side of the wallpaper, smooth the wallpaper toward the upper left corner with your hand or a brush, and stick the upper left corner to the wall.
7. Use a brush to smooth the upper part of the wallpaper from the center outward. The right side of the wallpaper must be aligned with the marked line.
8. Uncover the folded lower half of the wallpaper. First, brush the center part down flat, then brush to both sides in a figure-eight shape to remove all air bubbles, and then tap the edge of the paper with the tip of the brush or a cloth.
9. After the wallpaper is pasted, use the back of the scissors to draw an obvious crease on the wallpaper along the edge of the skirting board. 3lian.com
10. Gently lift up the lower end of the wallpaper, cut along the creases, then stick it back to the original place and brush it flat. The steps for trimming the upper side of the wallpaper are the same.
Paste the rest of the wallpaper
1. Follow the steps of pasting the first wallpaper, and paste the second wallpaper on the right side of the first one without hanging the plumb line. But the edge a few feet long on the upper left side should be aligned with the edge of the wallpaper that has been pasted. Apply your hand to the upper right corner and stick the upper part of the wallpaper to the wall.
2. Use the brush used to smooth the wallpaper, and smooth the wallpaper from the center to all sides.
3. Uncover the folded part of the lower part of the wallpaper, align the edge with the edge of the pasted wallpaper, and brush it flat with a brush. Trim the upper and lower edges of the wallpaper as described above.
4. After pasting two or three sheets, use a seam roller to gently roll each seam, but do not roll the embossed wallpaper.
