If building a house is compared to building a car, then an apartment is a framework. Give you a framework, the most basic thing is to know what kind of framework this is; Then you have to distinguish the direction of the frame, where is the front side and where is the back side. Only by identifying the direction can we know the installation position of the engine, front and rear wheels, steering wheel, seat, car shell and cargo hold. If you can't tell the front and rear directions of the frame, you can't assemble a car. In the same way, if you are given an apartment, if you can't even tell the sitting direction, front, back, left and right of this apartment, then you can't talk about Feng Shui; Because you can't even find the direction, how can you know the advantages and disadvantages of the layout of kitchen, stove, bathroom, bed and living room?
If the geomantic layout of the house is compared to driving, then the whole house is a car. You must first find the front and rear of the car. Only by identifying the front and rear of the car can you know where the steering wheel is. You know that the glass window in front of the steering wheel is a convenient device to find the route. Only by recognizing the direction of driving can we start walking, otherwise disaster will come in an instant. In the same way, the sitting direction of a family is like the front and back of a car. How can I decorate this home if I can't even tell the direction of sitting? The transparent glass in front of the steering wheel is used to find the way. If the installation direction is wrong, cover the glass window with a large iron plate, and the disaster can be imagined. For example, the front of the apartment is spacious and bright, but you can't tell the direction of sitting, so put the toilet there to block it. The trend is good or bad.
Therefore, I regard sitting orientation and apartment type as the two foundations of home feng shui, juxtaposed. Huxing is the material basis, sitting orientation is the theoretical basis, one yin and one yang complement each other, and one is indispensable for Feng Shui.

No matter in the countryside or in the market, it is easy to see ancient houses, because they are only one or two stories high and are single-family houses. However, modern buildings are varied, with different shapes and criss-crossing internal structures. Each building has dozens of floors, and each floor is divided into several households, so it is more complicated, which constitutes a different sitting orientation and structure of each floor.
How to distinguish the sitting direction of modern apartments is the first level for many geomantic lovers, and it is also a difficult problem that has been bothering everyone. Some are facing the door; Some are architecture-oriented; Some take the balcony as the direction; Some are oriented by the window; Some take the terrain as the direction, in short, there is no unified statement. These residential studies, which were formed with the concept of the unity of man and nature, gradually developed into Feng Shui, including the influence of geographical environment on people's health, longevity, property, official transport and literary talent.
Umbilical cord is the transport line for all survival and nutrition of fetus in uterus. In the process of fetal development, whether the fetal head is up or down, umbilical cord is the material channel to maintain fetal life. No matter whether the head of the fetus is up or down, the position of the uterine orifice is always the same, always under the mother's body and connected with the * * * * orifice, because these two orifices are the gateway for the fetus to transfer from congenital to acquired. If the uterus is compared to a house, the umbilical cord is the material passage of the fetus, which is called the "air port", and the uterine orifice is the direction of the fetus, which is called the "mouth". The ancients said that "a house is full of mouths, and the mouth receives the help of three cleanups", which also coincides with the theory of fetal sitting.
When a baby comes into this world, he becomes a member of this world. However, the growth of all living things, in addition to the necessary material nutrition and air, must also be accompanied by light, which is the ultimate theory that everything depends on the sun for growth. Just like the principle of material combustion, it is not enough to have material and ignition point, but also to have oxygen to support combustion. Therefore, light source, looking for light source, is the direction and route of everything's growth.
Therefore, using the theory of fetal interest to analyze the house, we know that the door of the house is the air port and material transportation channel of the house, just like the umbilical cord of the fetus; The window or other biggest lighting direction is the entrance to the house, just like the entrance to the uterus.
