Night Tour on the Huangpu River
Today was a rainy day. It was already past eight o'clock when we took the subway to Nanjing East Road in the evening, and soon it started to rain lightly. Take a taxi to Shiliupu Pier and you'll be there in ten minutes. If it doesn’t rain, you can walk south along the Huangpu River from the Bund to Shiliupu Pier. The ticket for a night cruise on the Huangpu River is about 100
There are two waiting ticket offices at Shiliupu Pier, one is at No. 531, Zhongshan East 2nd Road, and the other is at No. 501, Zhongshan East 2nd Road, not far from each other. But be sure not to go wrong. We first walked to the hall No. 531, which was full of tour groups. We asked the ticket seller at the window and found out that we should go to the ticket hall No. 501. Most of the people here are individual tourists. When we picked up the tickets, the conductor told us that the sailing time is 21 p.m. :15 minutes, get on the boat 10 minutes early.
I was very excited while queuing up to board the boat. Huangpu River night tours are operated by several companies. Each boat has a different structure and different routes. Our route starts from Shiliupu Pier and goes north to the North Bund and then turns back. It is also the most classic night cruise route on the Huangpu River and allows you to enjoy the most beautiful night views of Lujiazui and the Bund.
This cruise ship has three floors. The first floor is a restaurant where you can order food and enjoy the scenery while eating. The second floor is a private room, which requires an additional fee. The third floor is a platform, which is free but has no seats. Almost all tourists go straight to the third floor.
The cruise ship sails on the side of the Huangpu River near Pudong, and you can enjoy the night view of Lujiazui more closely. These high-rise buildings are covered with huge advertisements, and the advertising content is often changed.
No matter where you look at Lujiazui, the Oriental Pearl Tower must be the most majestic and brightest. The lights all over it are incomparable to those of the surrounding office buildings. It will always be the focus of the night view of Lujiazui.
In addition to the Oriental Pearl Tower, the surrounding buildings of different shapes are also brightly lit.
It turns out that the Oriental Pearl Tower also has a cruise ship terminal. You can try it here next time.
This is the most beautiful ship. It comes from Shiliupu Pier. It is full of lights and has a strange shape, like a huge glowing ladybug floating on the water.
The Huangpu River is still very lively at night, with various cruise ships coming and going. However, the night view of the Huangpu River in Shanghai is more beautiful than during the day. During the day, I only saw the river water as yellow as mud.
All the tourists were standing on the third deck, and the prime position near the guardrail was crowded with people. When the boat was approaching the Oriental Pearl Tower, a photography store owner came up and shouted, "It's time to take pictures. This is the most beautiful scenery on the Huangpu River." When the boat returned to the Bund, he came up and shouted again.
It took 20 minutes after the boat sailed to reach the North Bund. The lights in front were dim and there was no night view to see, so we turned back where we were. The lights of the high-rise buildings on the Puxi side were also very beautiful.
Compared with the Oriental Pearl Tower, the old houses on the Bund in Puxi are low and dimly lit, and are not as attractive as the Oriental Pearl Tower.
The tallest buildings in Lujiazui appear at the same time. The tallest building with no lights at all is the Shanghai Center. Its height of 632 meters ranks first in Shanghai, higher than the Oriental Pearl Tower.
The Shanghai Monument to the People’s Heroes is also very bright at night. Underground is the Bund Historical Memorial Hall. I went in once and it was free, but it closed very early in the afternoon.
After nine o'clock in the evening, tourists still gathered on the viewing platform of the Bund. The passenger flow of the Bund must be the largest in Shanghai
Most of the rows of old houses on the Bund are about a hundred years old. Historically, they were almost all European and American style buildings, and now they are mostly offices of major banks.
The clock tower on the Bund is the symbol here. Every hour on the hour, it emits a melodious bell that can be heard for miles.
Back at Shiliupu Pier, the high-rise buildings in Lujiazui are majestic.
The historical buildings on the Bund across the Huangpu River are like steady elders, watching the growth of the young and strong younger generations opposite.
The restaurant on the first floor of the cruise ship is clean and tidy, but I don’t know if the view through the glass will be different from that on the open-air platform. The next day
Thames Town-Shanghai Film and Television Park
Thames Town
Today’s itinerary is all in Songjiang District, a southwest suburb of Shanghai.
Small wontons are one of the most common breakfast dishes in Shanghai. They are not expensive and taste delicious, but they are not easy to fill up.
Transportation
To go to Thames Town, you can take Metro Line 9 and get off at Songjiang Xincheng Station. After exiting the station, take a taxi and drive about 3 kilometers to get there. You can also get there at Songjiang Transfer to the bus in Xincheng.
Thames Town is a community planned according to the British style. It is large in area. In addition to realistic British buildings, there are also large grasslands, like a park. The environment is very good. Wedding photos are taken here. There are many new people, so if you come here to take pictures, you must come early.
We arrived here before 8:30 in the morning, and there were almost no tourists.
The red phone booths and large expanses of grass all show a strong British style.
The flowers on the roadside are in full bloom, and the flowers and plants are luxuriant in summer, which is very suitable for taking pictures.
Entering the community, the streets here are also named after British places. Do the houses in the distance look like they are in the UK?
I have been to Thames Town several times, and every time There is a new feeling, no two houses are alike.
It was still rainy today, and there was a drizzle at night, and raindrops still remained on the fence. The cathedral is the most conspicuous building in this community. It has not been open several times. I came here this morning and found that the door of the church was open. I was really surprised.
There was no one in the church all morning, and it was empty when they came in. Photography is not allowed in the church, so I secretly pressed the shutter a few times, which made me feel like a thief.
The glass in the church is beautiful, and the colorful paintings are bright and lifelike.
This church is very tall and is also the background for many tourists to take photos. When we came back from walking around the community, the place was already full of newcomers and tourists taking photos.
It had just rained at night, and there was still a little water on the road. There were many shops in the community but they were not open for business yet.
The decoration details of these shops are as close to the British style as possible, and even the mailboxes are made antique.
There are many coffee shops in the community, and each one is beautifully decorated and has different styles. Coffee shops are great places to take photos.
Security guards in red uniforms patrol the community, and there are also many wedding photography shops here.
The wooden fence is very high-quality, and a chair is full of leisure.
In the corner of the shop, both the exterior walls and windows are different from the traditional Chinese style.
In Europe, it is indeed very common to spray-paint the exterior walls of buildings in colorful and eye-catching colors.
The bicycles parked on the side of the road are specially used for taking photos, and the service in the community is very considerate.
I like the street lights of this coffee shop, which are classic and simple, and I also like the striped parasols here.
The houses in the community have different orientations, and the paths are twists and turns, and there is no fixed tour route.
This train bar is also very unique, using a tram carriage transformed into a kiosk.
The landscape design of the community is good. There are flowers, plants and trees along the river. In summer, you can hear the chirping of cicadas, and of course there are many mosquitoes.
The boat in the river is designed to look like a pair of shoes, with a unique shape.
Crossing this bridge is a sign of entering the core area of the community. Most travel notes start from this bridge.
Beside the river is an English country villa with its own small courtyard inside the white fence, where life is comfortable and comfortable.
The street lamps by the river have unique shapes. Walking along the river is Huating Lake. This community has a lake of its own.
The river is full of fishing enthusiasts with complete equipment and unknown results.
There is a large lawn with green grass beside the lake. You can rent bicycles from here to ride. This community is very large and it is not easy to walk around.
The small pavilion on the lawn is for visitors to rest. This lawn is also a good place to take wedding photos, and the small pavilion is a good background.
There happened to be a newlywed couple taking pictures here, and I secretly photographed them from the small pavilion.
Beside the lake is a lawn, and there are water plants growing in the lake, making it a wetland park.
Small bridges of various shapes have been built on the water. There are not many tourists here. Most of the tourists are obsessed with exotic buildings.
There are also fishing enthusiasts sitting by the river. This area is quieter and the scenery is beautiful.
There are various sculptures on the lawn, which does not look monotonous. Foreigners like this kind of abstract-looking sculpture. Everyone can have their own understanding, and there is no standard answer.
There are several hotels in the community, and they are expensive. Battery cars are used to pick up and drop off guests staying in the hotel, and the service is considerate.
The huge lawn looks pleasing to the eye, and it looks more and more like a British country house.
Huating Lake is not small in area. The spherical building is built on the water and is a restaurant.
The various street lights in the community are also very beautiful, with different colors, shapes, and heights.
There are many coffee shops and bars in the community, and many movies were filmed here. Business was booming here when the movies were filmed.
After walking around the community and coming back, there were more tourists taking photos.
Near the church is a bookstore called Zhongshuge. The decoration is very unique. I visited it once last time and will go in again this time.
On the two floors, the bookshelves are full of books, and the children are reading attentively.
The stairs leading to the second floor are also filled with books. They are really the stairs leading to knowledge.
The bookshelf design on the second floor is very modern. Not many people come here to actually read books, most of them are tourists taking photos.
The bookstore has thoughtfully set up desks and chairs, and you can also buy a cup of coffee or a pot of tea downstairs.
The variety of books is very complete, and the bookshelves are connected in rows, like a maze.
The white fence in the country villa area by the river just now is also very distinctive.
Shanghai Film and Television Park
Transportation
Take the Songmin Line bus nearby, get off at Chedun, and walk for about 10 minutes to Shanghai Film and Television Park.
Tickets
Tickets for Shanghai Film and Television Park are 80 yuan, and tickets booked online in advance are only 70 yuan. This is a film and television shooting base invested and built by Shanghai Film Group. Many scenes are realistic in shape. At the same time, several film and television works are being shot here, and several venues are occupied to prevent the audience from entering.
The French courtyard is an important scene. There is a large lawn here. Most of the houses have their doors locked and can only be viewed from the outside.
Today is a rainy day and there are not many tourists. The tour ends here at 4:30 pm, so you should come here as early as possible.
Several Western buildings of different styles are very charming and may be often seen in various film and television works.
There are also trams running on Nanjing Road. Tourists can ride them for free. They are often seen on TV. Now Nanjing Road has long become a pedestrian street. It is so crowded with tourists that even bicycles have difficulty passing.
The style of old Shanghai is reproduced here. The signs of the grocery stores are also from decades ago, and there are all the Jiangyuan Pawn Shop and Tailor Shops.
Of course, there are also typical old Shanghai Shikumen houses. There are still such houses in urban Shanghai, which are very unique.
When not filming, these rooms are usually empty. Before filming, the crew will come to set up the scene. There are many slogans posted on the roadside, which were left by the previous crew.
The signboards on the side of Nanjing Road are very distinctive, but they are no longer seen on Nanjing Road now.
Old Shanghai Nanjing Road is the main scene here and the one with the most tourists.
The river in the scenic area should be a simulated Suzhou River. There is a carriage parked by the river, which is also a prop for filming. Many old train scenes were filmed here.
There is no filming now, tourists can come up and experience it. The seats are still made of wood and feel very classic.
The iron bridge built on the river is a replica of the Waibaidu Bridge. The current Waibaidu Bridge still exists on the Suzhou River. This bridge is of course smaller than the real Waibaidu Bridge.
There is another bridge on the river that is also very beautiful and has a bit of a Western style.
There is also a lake in the scenic area. The environment around the lake is very beautiful and you can go around the lake.
On the green land by the lake, the winding gravel paths are suitable for taking pictures.
There are many tourists resting in the small pavilion by the lake.
Peace Square is also a European-style scene, and a cathedral is the highlight here.
If you just walk around the scenic area, you will find many old-style Guangdong-style buildings. This scenic area can be used to shoot various scenes.
There is a film crew working on this street, probably filming soon.
I wanted to come here to film a costume drama, but it looks like it hasn’t been used for a long time. The grass in the yard has grown so high.
Back on Nanjing Road, some young actors are filming short films here.
The male and female actors are dressed in different but uniform costumes, and they are surrounded by parents.
The director is telling the story to these young actors. The lines are written on the signboards. The young actors are quite serious.
After 4:30 pm, the tram has been put into storage and the road in Nanjing is quiet.
The big lawn is not allowed to be entered casually, and the children filming the movie are rehearsing on this side.
It is getting late, and today is a very fulfilling day. The third day
Tianzifang-Xintiandi-Xujiahui-Garden House in the Former French Concession Area (Hengshan Road-Yuqing Road-Wukang Road-Fuxing West Road-Yongfu Road-Hunan Road)-Shanghai Jiaotong University
Tianzifang
Transportation
Take Metro Line 9 to Dapuqiao in the morning. Exit No. 1 to Taikang Road. Tianzifang is at No. 220 Taikang Road.
Not many people came to Tianzifang early in the morning, but a tourist group happened to pass by. Most of the group members were going to come here to shop. Seeing that none of the shops on the street were open, they all felt very sad. disappointment.
Tianzifang is very commercial. In recent years, Tianzifang has become more and more famous, and there are more and more tourists. The shops are one after another, and of course there are also bars and cafes that enhance the literary and artistic atmosphere.
I seem to have been to this bar a few years ago, and there are many customers at night.
Most of the houses here were built eighty or ninety years ago. The houses themselves have the characteristics of old Shanghai, but they are all decorated in a literary and fresh style. There are not many tourists on the road now.
Each bar has a different decoration style. The style of this one is extremely simple, with the most ordinary wooden tables and sturdy metal chairs.
A store that sells teddy bears should have a lot of people during the day.
This cafe is located in a courtyard, separated by a bamboo fence, and the mood is very different.
Another tour group came, took a few photos and then left in a hurry.
There are many signs on the roadside and there are many foreigners here. I hope to find some old Shanghai style here.
I don’t know which store had a cat, squatting on the road with a calm demeanor, as if it was used to big scenes.
Tianzifang only has a few streets and is not large in scale. You can finish shopping in one hour at most, if you are not shopping.
The decoration style of these small shops is very artistic, a bit like Gulangyu Island in Xiamen.
Although the tables and chairs in the bar are simple, they are arranged neatly. The waiters must have undergone strict training.
After walking around, there were more and more tourists in Tianzifang, and it was time to leave.
Xintiandi
Transportation
Take No. 17 from the bus stop on Jianguo Middle Road at the north gate of Tianzifang, get off at Zizhong Road Dongtai Road, and go back Just a few hundred meters away is Xintiandi.
The most famous thing about Xintiandi is of course its bars. Many foreigners in Shanghai like to come here. It is a famous high-consumption area in Shanghai. It is also the area where Shanghai’s traditional Shikumen houses are concentrated.
The bar that had been noisy all night finally calmed down in the early morning. The waiters have not yet gone to work, and some of the tables and chairs in the bar still retain the appearance of the carnival last night.
The architectural style of Shikumen is very distinctive, and the lane-style design has the style of old Shanghai. There are still such houses in the old city of Shanghai, but they are not as complete as those built in Xintiandi.
The Shikumen house here is either a bar or a restaurant. I have eaten here several times, and the price is naturally extremely expensive.
The waiter in the restaurant is carefully writing down today’s dishes with a focused expression.
The most common thing here is the tables and chairs of the bar, which are connected one after another. It is the busiest at night.
Xujiahui
Transportation
Xintiandi has convenient transportation. Take Line 1 from Huangpi South Road Subway Station on Huaihai Road to Xujiahui. Xujiahui Metro Station is very large. Coming out of Exit 3 is the Xujiahui Catholic Church.
The Xujiahui Catholic Church has a long history. It was built in the 22nd year of Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1896 AD) and is the main church of the Catholic Diocese of Shanghai.
The lawn in front of the church is very green. Normally, you can enter the church, but today, Sunday, you can only enter during a fixed time period in the afternoon.
Garden Houses in the Former French Concession
Transportation
Enter Hengshan Road from Xujiahui and start your journey to find the Garden Houses in the former French Concession.
Hengshan Road is very famous in Shanghai. There are many bars on this road, and the thick French plane trees on the roadside are also a sight.
Follow the established route, turn from Hengshan Road to Yuqing Road. These small roads are very quiet, with not many cars. They are surrounded by high courtyard walls, and inside the walls are beautiful small Western-style buildings. However, most of them are inhabited or office spaces and are not open to the public.
When you are tired from walking, you can have some drinks and snacks on the roadside.
A cup of iced soy milk is the most suitable drink for summer. It is refreshing, thirst-quenching and nutritious.
Newly baked meat-filled mooncakes, with crispy outer skin and fragrant meat fillings, are indeed a famous snack in Shanghai. Every Mid-Autumn Festival, Shanghainese people line up to buy meat-filled mooncakes. Freshly baked mooncakes are the best. eat.
Looking at the beautiful little western-style building, I couldn’t go in, so I had to take a photo through the crack in the door outside.
There is a Xuhui Old House Art Center at No. 393 Wukang Road, which is worth a visit. Within the two floors, the first floor introduces some of the more well-known old houses in this area. There are many beautiful photos hanging around the walls on the second floor. This art center itself is art.
I really like this slim little window, it’s very sentimental.
There are also some old houses that have been converted into bars and restaurants. This Western restaurant has a very good business, and many foreigners come to eat here.
The old houses on the roadside have different designs. Most of them were built in the 1930s. The windows are in a typical European style. The fence on the small balcony outside the window is the most distinctive.
Wukang Road is a road where old houses are concentrated. In addition, there are few cars and many trees, which makes it very sentimental.
These houses are inhabited by people and cannot be visited inside, so we have to take a look outside the walls.
It’s still the same windows, beautiful railings, and the French style comes from the details.
The green plants hanging down from the wall form the most beautiful background for taking photos.
Of course, there are also many consulates of European countries on these roads. There are armed police standing guard at the door and no photography is allowed.
Turn from Wukang Road to Fuxing West Road. This road is also very beautiful, with wide pavement and tall plane trees on the roadside.
There are also some small shops on the roadside. Generally speaking, there are not many shops. Walking on these roads feels very quiet.
Shanghai Jiaotong University
After walking around for a while, we came to the vicinity of Jiaotong University at noon and chose a Northeastern restaurant. Sauced bones are a specialty here, and they are all meat.
Northeastern dumplings are also delicious. They are big and I like the ones stuffed with three delicacies the most.
After dinner, we entered the Jiaotong University campus to rest for a while. The old library of Jiaotong University looked like a cultural relic, and many people took photos here.
The entrance of Shanghai Jiaotong University is not grand, like the entrance of a palace. This school gate also has a history of nearly a hundred years and is a historically protected building.
This is the end of the trip to Shanghai. I believe everyone has a certain nostalgia for this place. If you come to Shanghai, you can learn from these travel plans. I believe you can also have a good time visiting Shanghai. of!
