How many meters is the height of the first floor of Xiashanhu?
Generally 3-4 meters.
Xiashan tiger, also called "running lion", is the most common traditional residential building form in Chaoshan area, and is also the basis of other residential building forms. It adopts a central axis layout with only one living room and two rooms. The entrance leads to the patio, and the patio directly leads to the central hall. There is a large room on both sides of the central hall, and on both sides of the courtyard there are small rooms commonly known as "stretching hands" connected to the large room. The plan of the entire structure is similar to the three-sided courtyard in northern folk houses. The downhill tiger also has some simpler structures, such as the "single running lion". In this structure, the door is opened sideways and takes up the space of one side room, leaving only one side room. If it were simpler, it would be to change the living room into a gallery room.
The roof of the Xiashan Tiger is a hard top, that is, it is higher in the back and lower in the front. This design is both ventilated and easy to drain, and is designed to adapt to the hot and rainy climate in the Chaoshan area. Richer families would also use colorful paintings and other crafts with strong Chaoshan characteristics to decorate their courtyard gates, which more fully reflects the unique characteristics of Chaoshan residential areas.
Generally, it is 200 to 300 square meters, with two main rooms, two side rooms, plus a hall and patio. The length is generally about 17 to 18 meters, and the width is generally about 15 meters.
