Why do you like the characters in A Dream of Red Mansions?
Judging from the arrangement of Tanchun's boudoir, she is also obviously different from other sisters: Tanchun likes to be generous, and three rooms are connected into one. There is a big box of Guilin marble in the room, which contains all kinds of famous people's calligraphy, pen and ink inkstone. Mi Fei's Misty Rain Picture and Yan's Mo Bao are hung on the wall. Compared with other sisters, including Baoyu, the layout of Tanchun Room is very simple. Qinqi calligraphy and painting is a common pastime in ancient ladies' toilets. The calligraphy and painting in Tanchun Room does not mean that she is knowledgeable. In terms of literary talent, Tan Chun is inferior to Baochai and Daiyu, but she also has a unique style. He can write poems that admire both elegance and popularity, such as chrysanthemum and residual chrysanthemum, and he can also say, "I know that my temples are cold and stained with three classics, and Ge Zhongxiang is stained with nine autumn frost." Good sentences like that. The lively poetry club activities in the Grand View Garden have brought all the sisters' talents into full play, but the initiator of this activity is her, which makes people have to agree with her organizational ability and her pursuit of elegance.
Tanchun is particularly strict with girls. When she was eating, the maids on both sides kept silent, but the other sisters couldn't do that. For example, Yingchun can't command her maids and spinsters at all, and even loses her temper with these people. At this point, none of the sisters in the Grand View Garden does not admire her. Lian Ping also said: "She is a girl's family and is not convinced. This is her respect. You despise her and bully her. It really stirred up the atmosphere, and Second Grandma (Wang Xifeng) dared not do anything. " She also said, "Second Daughter-in-law should also give her five points on her eldest sister-in-law." It can be seen that Wang Xifeng also admires her sister-in-law
Second, Tan Chun's ability to manage money and family and her statesmanship.
In Cao Xueqin's works, Tan Chun belongs to the orthodox women in the Grand View Garden. Among the orthodox women, there are Wang Xifeng and Xue Baochai, and Tan Chun is one of them with political grace.
Tan Chun is very different from other orthodox women because she has her own life ambitions. She said it herself ... I'm a man, but I can go out. My heart is long gone, and I have a career. I had my own reasons at that time. "I am a girl's family, there is nothing to say. ..... "This shows that Tanchun is not at ease to be a rich lady or a rich lady.
Tan Chun's talent is more reflected in her actions of managing family and managing money. First, at the fifty-fifth session, Tanchun's uncle Zhao died. She didn't care too much about the relationship between the deceased and herself and the crying of her mother, Aunt Zhao. Instead, she gave a gift of twenty taels according to the rules. Of course, there are also factors that Tan Chun doesn't regard her uncle as a relative, but we can also see that her business is business-like and selfless, but few daughters-in-law who are in charge do so. Secondly, she exempted Baoyu, Jia Huan and Jia Lan from going to school, but actually spent her monthly money on Xiren, Aunt Zhao and Li Wan. Although this incident aroused the dissatisfaction of others, no one said anything against it, because everyone knew in their hearts that Tanchun had done the right thing. After this incident, Wang Xifeng asked Pinger to say, "Although she is a girl, she knows everything in her heart, but she is cautious in her words. She knows more about reading and writing than I do, and now there is a saying that' catch the thief first'. If she contradicts me, don't contradict me. The more you respect others, the better you can say yes. Don't think about being afraid that I will lose face. It's not good to fight with her. " It can be seen that this phoenix pepper, which has always been fearless, is also afraid of tanchun. Look closely at the ability and self-sufficiency of this sister-in-law housekeeper.
Tanchun did two admirable things without violating Wang Xifeng's interests. First of all, she exempted every young lady from buying twenty taels of silver for hair oil and powder every month, because these girls already have two or two months' money every month. Here, Tan Chun found the phenomenon of "comprador" in Jia's family economy. Although I just bought some girl powder, I have a great disadvantage. The comprador either delayed delivery or bought some inferior ones, which made the girls unable to use them and had to buy them again. Tanchun forgave the money, which did little harm to the girls, but dealt a blow to the comprador evil forces. Secondly, during this year, she saw the management method of Leda Garden, and thought it was good, so she sent someone to manage Jiafu's garden in the same way. As long as the managers can take out a small amount of girls' hair oil and powder money every month, the profits in the park will all belong to them. This economic method, which even has the concept of modern agricultural production, comes from a girl's hand, which is really not easy. Looking back, Cao Xueqin's title is "Exploring Spring, Promoting Benefits and Eliminating Lodging Disadvantages", and the word "min" shows that Cao Xueqin also paid great attention to this third young lady in his works and gave her incomparable wisdom.
Because Wang Xifeng was ill, Tan Chun managed the housework. Besides Tan Chun, Li Wan and Xue Baochai replaced Wang Xifeng. The other two didn't attract much attention in the process of managing the family, because Tan Chun did a lot of things to promote the advantages and eliminate the disadvantages, which attracted all eyes. She is knowledgeable, correct and smart, no less than Wang Xifeng, and people are used to comparing her with Wang Xifeng, a daughter-in-law who has been a housekeeper.
Wang Xifeng is greedy and ruthless in financial management, just like her. Her main income is exorbitant taxes, but she doesn't develop industry. Of course, this is not entirely her responsibility, it is the inevitable development of that society. What stands out in Wang Xifeng's financial management is her right to falsify. Wang Xifeng's usury and bribery kept the rest of the family in the dark. It was really her own way. It was not until the 105th time that officials of Jinyifu raided Rongning House and copied a large number of IOUs in her room that everyone knew that she was still lending usury privately. Wang Xifeng's financial management is extremely selfish Everything she did was to enrich herself. However, Tanchun's financial management is not the case. Tanchun forgave the young ladies and maids the spare money of rouge, and the allowance of others' pockets. In the name of borrowing the spare money from the boys' school, he gave the garden to the servant for "contracting". From these things, we can see the style of tanchun financial management, that is, "increasing revenue and reducing expenditure" with great positive significance. Tanchun saved seemingly small "small money" and used extremely simple methods, but it was these practices that made the declining Jia family "make the best use of everything, make the best use of the land, make the best use of everything", with a little enterprising breath, and also made people up and down respect and fear her. It can be described as the best of both worlds. Unfortunately, this is just a glimmer of light. When Wang Xifeng is well, everything will remain the same, and the management will still be under the jurisdiction of the Foreign Affairs Office. Internal improvement measures will be swept away, and there is no chance.
There are many old maids, daughters-in-law and maids in the Jia family, and there are also oppression among these servants, and some even don't care about their masters. For example, Mammy Li, who raised Baoyu, often came to teach the maids of Yee Hong Yuan a lesson. Yingchun can't control her maids and nuns. Tanchun became a housekeeper, which greatly reduced the prestige of Wu's wife. Since then, he has also severely cracked down on Wang Shanbao's daughter-in-law. Wang Shanbao's daughter-in-law has an unshirkable responsibility for Qingwen's death. I usually rely on being Mrs. Wang's daughter-in-law to accompany the housekeeper. The seventy-fourth time, Wang Shanbao's wife and Wang Xifeng raided the Grand View Garden. When they raided Qiushuangzhai, Tanchun "waited for the door by candlelight", saying that the family's downfall began with suicide, and even Wang Xifeng had to smile and apologize. Wang Shanbao was not satisfied with his family. He searched Tanchun's body once, which led to Tanchun's slap. The inviolability of Tanchun has been fully reflected in this incident. Her words are sharp and her momentum is completely superior to that of Wang Xifeng. She severely taught Wang Shanbao's wife, put out the arrogance of such servants, and tried her best to change the phenomenon that Jia's fierce servants bullied the Lord.
Third, the influence of feudal ethics on Tanchun.
The Jia family has four women surnamed Jia, namely, Yingchun, Tanchun and Xichun. Words such as "Yuan", "Ying", "Exploration" and "Xi" usually mean "should sigh". Whether this is far-fetched or not, the sisters in the Grand View Garden can't escape the tragic fate, which is the main point of A Dream of Red Mansions. Since our third Miss Tan Chun is in the Red Chamber, her fate is also tragic.
Tanchun's birth is one of her tragedies. Tanchun was born to Aunt Zhao. It is a disgrace to be an unmarried woman in a big feudal family. This is a weakness and a hidden disease for a young lady with political demeanor and ambition in life. This irreparable defect makes Tan Chun very cautious about people and things, for fear of becoming the object of others' discussion. Tanchun and his mother, Aunt Zhao, have different personalities and often have conflicts. Aunt Zhao has no affection for her daughter, and Tanchun is very resentful of her mother's actions.
In Tanchun, she hardly took her biological mother seriously. She said to herself: "... she (Aunt Zhao) naturally has a vision, but it is only a humble knowledge. She just thinks so. I just know the master (Jia Zheng) and his wife (Mrs. Wang), and I don't care about others ... "In this way, Tanchun is not a mother of Aunt Zhao. For the sixtieth time, I told my wife Li ... at such a big age, what I did was never admirable. What does this mean? It's also worth fighting about. It's not decent. "This sentence is enough to see that, in front of others, Tanchun's attitude towards Aunt Zhao is still like this, with no mercy and no mother-daughter affection. Tan Chun is equally indifferent to his uncle Zhao and his younger brother Jia Huan. When Aunt Zhao asked Tan Chun about the gift money when Zhao died, Tan Chun cried and said, "Who is my uncle? My uncle will be promoted to nine provincial inspections next year, and another uncle will come out? " Tanchun doesn't treat Zhao as a relative at all. It is not difficult to think that this is also the credit of Aunt Zhao. On the 27th time, Aunt Zhao made shoes for Baoyu to wear for Tanchun, but never paid attention to the dispute between Jia Huan and Tanchun. On the fifty-fifth occasion, Tanchun only gave his uncle Zhao twenty-two taels as a gift according to the rules, which provoked Aunt Zhao to make a scene. Back to the 60th time, Aunt Zhao intervened in mediation, because Jia Huan asked for nitric acid roses, which caused a fight. Everything can be seen that Aunt Zhao and Jia Huan's mother and son have an annoying position in the Jia family, as well as Tanchun's indifference to his mother and brother.
Tanchun did this out of personal considerations and feudal ethics. She tried to get rid of her concubine status. Even if she can't change it, she wants to draw a line with her mother through action and not let others look down on her. In doing so, she was recognized by most people in the Jia family and won the favor of Mrs. Wang. Even Wang Xifeng sighed: "Good! All right! All right! What a nice girl! I said that she is good, but unfortunately her life is thin and she was not born in her wife's stomach. " I believe Tanchun herself will secretly sigh that her fate is not good, not her wife's daughter.
Fourth, the view of Jia Tanchun's ending.
After a long debate about the ending of Tanchun, there is basically a unified conclusion, that is, she married overseas and became a princess. Although this is not the same as the ending of the book we usually see, there are more than one or two inconsistencies between the sequel and Cao Xueqin's original intention, so I won't discuss it much. I will only point out the places where the first 80 times suggest the end of Tanchun.
First of all, look at the verdict of the fifth edition of Twelve Women in Jinling. As we all know, the comments on women and girls here hint at their future. Here, Tan Chun's verdict says ... there are two people flying kites, a sea and a big ship. There was a woman on the boat, hiding her face and crying. There are four other sentences that say,' I am smart and ambitious, and I was born in the last days. Qingming tears are sent to the riverside to see, and Dongfeng dreams. "A Dream of Red Mansions, the fifth of the twelve poems," Divide the flesh and blood "said:" A sail is full of sex rain, and the family of flesh and blood is thrown together. I'm afraid crying will damage my old age. I'll tell my parents to have a rest. Poverty has been fixed since ancient times, and there is no chance of clutch. From now on, it will be divided into two places. Keep yourself safe. Slaves go, don't get involved! " The mountains are far away and the water is far away, and it is miserable. Life and death are generally parting. This obviously means never coming back. If, like Gao E's sequel, he just married the sea, when the elders discussed marrying a woman, they just felt that they were married far away, but they could still go home, which was unacceptable. At the end of the book, Tan Chun actually went home to visit relatives. In that case, what about life and death? There may be sadness about marrying far away, but there is no need to think that you can go back to your mother's house in the future, and the title of the song is not necessary to be called "separation of flesh and blood".
In the 1970s, the sisters drew lots to fill in catkins, and Tan Chun wrote half a poem Conan Zi, which once again confirmed Tan Chun's long-term marriage.
Let's look at the sixty-third song "Shouyihong Fang Qun Banquet". This time, the sisters of Grand View Garden held a banquet in Yihong Garden to celebrate Baoyu's birthday. Obviously, everyone has to draw lots in the order of drinking, and the label drawn has the word test, which implies everyone's life and destiny. For example, there is a peony on the ticket painted by Baochai, and the title is "Yan Guan Fangqun"; There is a hibiscus flower on the lottery ticket drawn by Daiyu, which reads "the wind is sad" and the poem reads "Don't blame the east wind". Tan Chun painted an apricot flower with the title "Xian Pin in Yaochi". In the poem, "The red apricot is planted by the cloud on the edge of the sun" and said, "Whoever gets this sign will marry." When Tanchun drew lots, the sisters all laughed: "There is already a princess at home. Are you a princess too? " It turns out that Tanchun's lottery numbers "Yaochi Xian Pin" and "Ribian" both mean that she will become the wife of the emperor, so Tanchun is undoubtedly a princess. This is the same as the explanation in the note that the Jia family is already the family of princes, and only when they marry a door higher than that of princes can they be called "expensive husbands". In the sequel, Tan Chun only married the son of Zhenhai Zongzhi, but he can't be called "your husband".
Kites are used to symbolize the end of tanchun in several places. For example, in the judgment of the fifth time, "There are two people flying kites in the back ..." When doing the riddle in the 22nd time, the answer to Tanchun's riddle is a kite, saying, "Children are on their backs, and Qingming makeup is the most suitable. The hairspring is weak, so don't blame the east wind. " . Just like the tickets drawn by sisters, the riddles written by individuals here also hint at everyone's future. Tanchun's riddle is consistent with her "Marry in Qingming Festival". The answer to the kite only means that Tanchun's future is as helpless as a kite with a broken line. As for what the kite symbolizing Tanchun looks like, the paragraph about people flying kites in the seventieth episode explains everything. The order of flying kites, the style of flying kites and the way of flying kites all imply everyone's life experience and destination. Just like Baoyu's beautiful kite, Daiyu made it fly, but Tanchun made it fly with soft wings and a big phoenix kite. Phoenix has always been compared to the king's princess, and it will never be idle here. The implication of flying kites in spring is more obvious. Two phoenix kites twisted together in the air, and the other kite with a big door leaf, delicate happy characters and a whip rang with the bell, and twisted together with the two phoenixes for a long time and flew away together. Tanchun wouldn't be a broken kite if she hadn't married overseas, but the close-up of the Phoenix kite shows that Tanchun is a princess.
Tanchun should be an overseas princess, only an overseas princess. It confirms Yuan Chun's assertion that "Three Spring Wars (How) Early Spring Scenery", Tan Chun can't surpass Yuan Chun, so she can't be a princess in her own country, so she can only marry a foreign princess. Although a princess, she became a princess in a small overseas country far from home. According to the traditional concept, this is a great tragedy. No matter how high the skill of tanchun is, there is nothing you can do about your own destiny.
"I am smart and ambitious, and I was born in Tianya." Tanchun is just a song in the whole tragedy.
Tanchun is also a figure I like and admire very much! I think Tanchun's long marriage is actually an escape. Escaped the bad luck of property theft. But Tanchun didn't do it on purpose. She wants to save Jia's family with her own ability, but how can such a society be possible! It is impossible for Wang Xifeng to challenge men's superiority to women, because she wants to live as a housekeeper in the Grand View Garden for a long time. Only by obeying and pleasing Lady Jia and Lady Wang (that is, bowing to the feudal tradition), Wang Xifeng can only say that she is very provocative, capable and capable. If she lives in modern times, she must be a strong woman!
I hope I can help you ~
