The difference and connection of ancient solar terms in China.
Cold Food Festival and Tomb-Sweeping Day are two different festivals.
Tomb-Sweeping Day started in the Zhou Dynasty and has a history of more than 25,000 years. Qingming is one of the twenty-four solar terms in the China lunar calendar. This season, the rain is increasing, and the earth presents a beautiful scene of spring. It is said that Tomb-Sweeping Day originated from the "tomb sacrifice" of ancient emperors and generals. Later, people followed suit and sacrificed ancestors to sweep graves on this day. In ancient times, the day before Tomb-Sweeping Day was called "Cold Food Festival". It is said that in the Spring and Autumn Period, Jin Wengong was in trouble. Jiezitui once cut his own meat to satisfy his hunger.
When Jin Wengong ascended the throne, he was asked to be an official. Jiezitui lives in seclusion in Mianshan. Jin Wengong set fire to force mesons to push out. As a result, he was injured by mistake. Jin Wengong regretted it very much and ordered that the fire be banned from now on. Because naked flame is forbidden, people can only eat cold food today, so it is called "cold food". Since then, Qingming cold food has become a traditional festival of the Chinese nation.
Shangyuan Festival generally refers to Lantern Festival (a traditional festival in China). Lantern Festival, also known as Lantern Festival, Shangyuan Festival, the first lunar month, New Year's Eve or Lantern Festival, is the first important festival after the Spring Festival. It is also one of the traditional festivals of China cultural circles and overseas Chinese. The first month is the first month of the lunar calendar. The ancients called night "dawn". Therefore, the first full moon in a year, that is, the fifteenth day of the first month, is called the Lantern Festival.
In the ancient customs of China, Shangyuan Festival (Lantern Festival), Zhongyuan Festival (Yulan Basin Festival) and Xiayuan Festival (Water Festival) were called Sanyuan Festival. Lantern Festival began in the Qin Dynasty more than 2,000 years ago. Emperor Wen of Han ordered the fifteenth day of the first month to be the Lantern Festival. During the period of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, the sacrificial activities of "Taiyi God" were scheduled for the 15th day of the first month (Taiyi: the God in charge of the universe). When Sima Qian founded the taichu calendar Law, he made the Lantern Festival a major festival.
