Are there water monkeys in the world?
In some coastal areas, old people often advise their children and grandchildren not to go to the water, especially at night, because there will be water monkeys waiting to pull you down. Once you walk by the water without paying attention, the water monkey will reach out and pull you into the water.
Legend has it that the water monkey is so strong that several adults can't pull it. Once pulled into the water, you can't get up again. Then it will eat you and drink your blood. Among these old people, the water monkey is a creature similar to the water ghost, but unlike the water ghost, it is not for you to feed it to regenerate it, but for eating.
The true identity of the water monkey:
There have been many speculations about the true identity of water monkeys. There is a saying that water monkeys are actually otters. People occasionally see the otter basking in the sun by the river, seeing its leftover fish and shrimp and the remains of unknown animals, and think it is eating human bones. Because people don't know much about this creature, over time, they called otters water monkeys and made up a series of stories.
