Fengshun nationality mainly belongs to Han nationality. At the same time, Fengshun is also the only county with indigenous minorities in Meizhou. The ethnic minority who originally lived in Fengshun was the She nationality, with a total population of less than 1000, mainly living in Feng Ping village. Although the population is small, according to the legend of the She nationality, Fengshun is the real birthplace of the She nationality (Tongguzhang and Fenghuang Mountain). She nationality is a tribe in Yan Di, which has a dog totem.

Fengshun is the only county in Meizhou with Chaozhou clan. According to records, among the aborigines in Fengshun, there are also members of the Yi family, belonging to the Guangfu lineage, and now they have merged into the Hakka and chaozhou people lineages.

Location context

Fengshun County is located in the east of Guangdong Province, at the southern end of Meizhou City, adjacent to Chaoshan area, with an administrative area of 27 10.22 square kilometers.

Fengshun County is located in the middle section of Lianhua Mountain, with huge mountain and high terrain. There are 57 peaks above 1000 meters above sea level. Tonggu Peak in the north is1559.5m above sea level, which is the highest point in the county and the first peak in eastern Guangdong. The main mountain ranges are: Lotus Mountain, Sakyamuni Mountain, Phoenix Mountain and Hanshan Mountain. Mountains and hills account for 88% of the county's total area, while plains and valleys account for 12%.
