Why should Beijing be designated as the capital of China?
If you think that the capital is in Beijing because of its strategic location, you are wrong.
Ming Dynasty emperor Chengzu usurped the throne and made Beijing the capital because he started his career in Beijing. Beijing is more than 100 miles away from Shanhaiguan. Once Shanhaiguan is lost, the invaders can reach the city in half a day's riding. This is a strategic decision to set the capital of a country in a strategic location. Is the front line a wise choice? This proved to be a mistake.
Now that Beijing is located in the north, it is not the best choice in terms of climate, resources, geography, transportation and other factors.
The six ancient capitals of China: Xi'an, Luoyang, Kaifeng, Beijing, Nanjing, and Hangzhou are not accidental. From a Feng Shui perspective, these places are treasures. After thousands of years of development, Xi'an, Luoyang and Kaifeng have faded and become relics of history. I don’t know why Hangzhou was not considered during the liberation period. I only know that the debate at that time was in Beijing and Nanjing.
Chairman Mao chose Beijing without hesitation because during the Warring States Period 2000 years ago when the Chu State destroyed the Yue State, he felt that Nanjing had an imperial aura, so he buried gold in Qingliang Mountain in Nanjing to suppress the imperial aura. When Qin Shihuang visited Nanjing, he felt that Nanjing had an imperial air, so he dug the Qinhuai River to break it. . . In the following 2,000 years, the 10 dynasties that established their capitals in Nanjing were all short-lived. The chairman felt it was unlucky, so he settled on Beijing.
Attachment: Chairman Mao believed in Feng Shui and fortune telling. The chairman once did a fortune telling, and the fortune teller said a number 8341. The chairman died at the age of 83 and had been the chairman for 41 years.
