The quadrangle has unique architectural design, reasonable layout and complete structure. There are similarities with ordinary Hakka dwellings, but they are quite different from ordinary Hakka dwellings. It can be described as a masterpiece of Hakka folk houses. From the outside, the whole building is divided into four buildings (main seats) and four bars (horizontal rooms), showing a symmetrical architectural style. There is a semi-circular pond in front of the stone building, which forms a big oval with the whole house. The five turrets are commanding and domineering, like five brave soldiers. The walls around the stone building are all made of strip granite, 80 cm thick and rock-solid. According to people, the whole mansion covers an area of more than 7,000 square meters, with a building area of more than 4,000 square meters, and a pond with a size of 1 1,000 square meters in front. There are 108 rooms, 36 patios, 20 halls and 3 gatehouses in the house. There are ear halls on the upper, middle, lower and left sides, and there is a hall behind the hall, commonly known as the North-South Suite. The upper, middle and lower halls and hallways, stone pillars and seats, screen posts, stacked gold frames, wooden beams and eaves screens are all fine wood and fine stones, which are still well preserved. Beams, columns, trusses and eaves are carved with dragons and phoenixes, painted in red, yellow and blue, and engraved with vivid patterns. The hall is separated from the horizontal house, and it is dark and humid, which shows that its ventilation and lighting are very particular. The horizontal house also has a hall, and the upper, lower and middle corridors are connected together. The halls in the house are connected, and the buildings are connected. The big round sleeve and the small round sleeve overlap each other. If a stranger walks into the house, it's like entering a maze, knowing the entrance, but not finding the door. There is a circle in the square of the whole building, and the circle is square, and yin and yang are combined, which reflects the Hakka people's understanding of yin and yang feng shui in architecture. From the building materials, exquisite stone carvings, exquisite painters and hanging plaques, it shows that the owner at that time was a rich family.

In the center of the top of the flower stand behind the house, there is a century-old Cycas. It is said that when the house was built, its grandson went to Beijing for an exam and brought it back from Beijing to plant it. Cycas lived for a hundred years. Now, the diameter of the cycad is about 0.2 meters and the height is 2 meters. It has pinnate compound leaves and is full of vitality. According to Zhang Fuchu, an 88-year-old man who lives in the house, Cycas bloomed for the first time at 1.999+0. 1.09, and it was really beautiful.

There are still touching myths and legends about the construction of this house.

Legend one. The ancestor of this homeowner is from Ban Ling Village, Luogang, Xingning. He came to Lankou in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties to run a small business. This person is a person who likes to watch Feng Shui. One day, he visited Lecun and felt that his eyes were wide open. He saw that the place was surrounded by mountains and the mountains were winding. The stream in the village is crystal clear and flows through nine bends. Below it are "carp on the beach" and "golden turtle guarding the mouth". There is a majestic Jialongshan (Jilong Peak Sunrise) in the northeast of the village, and there is half a ridge in the middle of the village. Faced with such beautiful scenery, the public was inspired by poetry. With the word "Lecun" as the title, he chanted "Lecun has beautiful scenery and few people in the village" and praised Lecun for its beautiful scenery and outstanding people. Lecun got its name from this.

Legend 2. Sun (born in Qianlong 18 in Qing Dynasty, that is, AD 1753) moved to Lecun in accordance with his ancestors' wishes and began the course of hard work. One day, Jie returned from farming, and the moon stars were scarce. He is sitting in front of the house, enjoying the cool air. Suddenly, he saw three white horses running southeast, and in a short time, they disappeared. Jay Gong Hong thought for a moment. "Is it a silver ghost?" ? The next day, Jie Gong Hong kept silent, went to the place where the white horse disappeared, and finally dug up three cans of gold and silver treasures. As a result, Jie Guang bought land, opened three pawn shops and became a rich man. After this public outburst, he kept a straight face and wore a cloth. His uncle is a rich man in He Kang Xian Hang, and he has a large-scale octagonal mansion. One day, Jie Gong Hong went to his uncle's house to visit the octagonal building and wanted to build a building. Someone saw him dressed like this and immediately laughed at him and said, "You are so poor that you can afford to build such a big house"? Jie Gong Hong was silent, just laughing: After returning to China, Jie Gong Hong immediately invited famous teachers and craftsmen to build a big house. It is said that this mansion was built in the late Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty. After more than ten years of Jiaqing and Daoguang, the project was fully completed through the efforts of three generations.

Xie Honggong's grandchildren have inherited the virtues of their ancestors, and they are hardworking, thrifty and respectful, and they are scattered in China and Taiwan Province Province. Most local residents have built new houses and moved out of luxury houses. According to Zhang Fuchu, an 88-year-old man who still lives in Shilou, many descendants of Xie Honggong visit their ancestral home every year.
