Orientation of Buddhist niches
Many friends still don't know much about the positioning of Buddhist niches, so today Bian Xiao will tell you about this problem.
The niche should not be placed too close to the gate, but should keep a certain distance from it. It is also very important that Buddha statues, including shrines, should be placed in quiet places at home so as not to disturb the gods. If possible, a separate room should be designed to worship Buddha statues.
If a niche must be placed in the bedroom due to conditions or personal wishes, it must be covered with a curtain when sleeping at night, and the back of the niche must not be empty. You must design a chair, but next door must not be the kitchen or bathroom. Dirty and greasy smell is taboo for Bodhisattva.
The place near the niche is relatively clean, and there are no sundries. For example, all kinds of household appliances can be avoided. If the niche is too monotonous, you can design a desk and put items such as a tribute incense burner.
The location of the niche is the same as our seats in the office or our beds at home. It can't be placed under the beams of the house, and the height of the niche should be higher, so as to reflect the word "worship".
But there is another saying that the front of the niche faces west, the back faces east, or the back faces west and east. This can be placed according to the layout of the apartment and your own wishes, but it should be noted that no matter which direction the niche is placed, it must be remembered that the space behind it cannot be a bathroom or a kitchen, and there cannot be a mirror in front.
