I have been practicing yoga since 20 12, and I have been a yoga teacher for almost ten years now. I practiced in a yoga studio in the first four or five years, and practiced in a large class. There are about a dozen teachers who have taught me, some of whom I can't remember their names and looks. In the next four or five years, I entered this industry myself, and I knew countless teachers.

On 20 12, there were two full-time teachers in the first venue where I took classes. I like one of them very much and only booked her class. I thought everyone was like me, but later I found another teacher I didn't like, and so many people signed up for her classes. It seems that I was wrong, not that her class was not good, but maybe it was not suitable for me at that time, or it was different from me.

So from the beginning, I thought that every yoga teacher need not be obsessed with being liked by all members, but can be liked by most people. To be an excellent teacher for a long time, I think this problem should start from two aspects, namely, professional ability and self-cultivation.

I. Professional ability

1. Love and persist in self-practice.

How long has it been since you became a yoga teacher? After entering this industry, I found that many yoga teachers sit in the yoga studio and don't practice for a day, only when taking pictures.

I know an elderly teacher, Iyengar, who runs her own library. She gets up at four or five every day and practices for three hours. She told me that I can't do it without practicing. She doesn't even feel how to keep teaching members. Her students are all perennial practitioners.

If you love it, you should stick to it, Do not forget your initiative mind.

2. Professional knowledge accumulation

When the epidemic was serious, offline training and teaching stopped, and many teachers who wanted to learn were disrupted, which made some people anxious. In fact, there are many ways to learn now. Online, books and self-practice can all bring us professional knowledge accumulation. Studying under the existing conditions and not waiting for time may bring you inspiration that is more suitable for long-term planning.

3. Improvement of teaching level

This includes many aspects: the perfection of knowledge structure, assistive technology, the scientificity, safety and effectiveness of curriculum arrangement, and the private education should formulate courses according to the physical condition of members, such as what diseases he/she has, whether he/she has had surgery, etc. Yoga poses have different functions, so you can refer to these to formulate the course content. For example, there are different classifications according to yoga.

For example, some of my members have some symptoms of chronic diseases, and I will join the twisting pose suitable for them, join the female prosthetic exercises with gynecological symptoms, and how to improve the physical quality with poor strength.

4. Stay focused and observant

Concentrate on observing the members' physical condition, whether there is any discomfort, remind everyone to practice within the range of physical endurance, cooperate with the guidance of breathing, and ask the female members whether they are in the physiological period before class. These all reflect the professionalism and concentration of a teacher, and members can feel it.

Second, self-accomplishment.

1. Keep a pious heart and practice.

Patanjali put forward three conditions of spiritual practice: permanence, persistence and piety. Practicing yoga requires devotion and devotion. To give the simplest example, many teachers left after class or self-study. The whole classroom was a mess and the yoga mats were dirty.

If the teacher is like this, it is really worth thinking about whether the members will be sincere or cocky. Teachers' inner cultivation plays an important role in themselves and others.

2. Self-image

Members may not talk much at ordinary times, but they are all curious, such as observing the teachers' figure and wanting to know their diet and exercise habits. As long as teachers persist in exploring their own development style, they will certainly be able to establish a positive image and influence their members.

Don't be stingy with daily greetings and communication, encourage everyone to persist, guide everyone to find their own cognitive upgrade from quantitative change to qualitative change, and put forward effective suggestions if they teach privately.
