Why Ningxia is cooler than Shandong?
The central and northern Ningxia has a dry climate and abundant light and heat resources. Sunny days last about 300 days, and the annual sunshine hours are about 3000 hours. The accumulated temperature of daily average temperature ≥ 10℃ is nearly 3400℃ a day, and the daily temperature difference is about 13℃. The majestic Helan Mountain, which runs through the northwest of Ningxia, not only weakens the invasion of the northwest cold wind, but also blocks the eastward advance of the shifting sand in Tengger Desert, becoming a natural barrier of Yinchuan Plain and also the dividing line between the monsoon region and the non-monsoon region in China.
Liupan Mountain is located at the southernmost tip of Ningxia, with cool climate, moist air and lush trees all the year round, and the annual precipitation exceeds 600 mm, making it a prominent "green island" and "wet island" on the Loess Plateau. It is said that "spring comes and autumn goes without midsummer", which has been a summer resort since ancient times.
