What is the difference between Hanfu of ordinary people in ancient China and Hanfu of rich people?
Most clothes in the Tang Dynasty were mainly made of silk. The junior high school textbook mentioned that an official in the Tang Dynasty wore seven layers of tulle clothes, but the mole on his chest could still be seen clearly, which showed that the silk-making technology at that time was superb.
Skirts are beautiful with more pleats (which means using more cloth) because they are more elegant. Wu Zetian once flaunted her frugality by wearing a seven-pleated skirt, because the queen was required to wear an eleven-pleated skirt.
There is also a saying in Zhou Wei's Meet the Neighbor that "the skirt is half naked". This was the fashion at that time. There are many "semi-naked" costumes in Tang murals and ladies' paintings, but only people with status can wear them like this, such as princesses, and dancers of the ruling class can also wear them like this.
Of course, not everyone can afford to wear this silk, and not everyone has the ability to be elegant and beautiful. Ordinary working people wear ordinary narrow-necked shorts, which is convenient for labor. It should be a durable material.
The Yuan Dynasty was dominated by Mongols, and there was no standard of relevant dynasties. However, in the Yuan Dynasty and the Northern Wei Dynasty, Hanfu was still preserved and developed, but the dressing system in the Qing Dynasty led to its demise. As for the robes and mandarin jackets, the court costumes in the Qing palace dramas are all "flag costumes", which are Manchu costumes.
In Han Dynasty, the costumes were mainly "straight songs". Women's wear is mainly multi-layered tortuous dark clothes, with more layers of skirts and larger hem. Clothing styles include: horizontal collar, right slit, and sleeves, with wide margins on sleeves and hem.
